Los videojuegos han captado la atención de los investigadores por su potencial motivacional aplicable a la enseñanza de contenidos. En esta línea, los diseñadores videojuegos educativos han intentado imitar los elementos que determinan el poder motivacional de los videojuegos con resultados bastante modestos. El presente trabajo pretende ahondar en los factores motivacionales presentes en el videojuego y utilizar esta información para mejorar la motivación de nuestros alumnos de ELE. Además, analizamos diferentes formas de explotación de los videojuegos en la clase de idiomas. Finalmente, planteamos una propuesta didáctica apoyada en el Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos y la metodología de Aprendizaje Integrado de Contenido y Lengua Extranjera. En dicha propuesta, los alumnos deberán crear su propio videojuego educativo de enseñanza de español utilizando el entorno de programación Scratch.

Video games have attracted the attention of researchers for their motivational potential which is applicable to teaching content. In that vein, the educational game designers have tried to imitate the elements which determine the motivational power of video games obtaining fairly modest results. This paper aims to delve into those motivational factors present in the game and use this information to improve our students' motivation. In addition, we analyze different ways of applying video games in language class. Finally, we put forward an educational proposal supported in Project Based Learning and Content and Language Integrated Learning methodology. In this proposal, students will create their own educational game with the target of teaching Spanish using the programming environment offered by Scratch.
