The aim of the work presented in this article is to assess whether the use of a hologram enhances the meaningful learning of cellular division contents. A pilot phase has been carried out with a sample of students of 4th course of high school education in the town of Logrono, Spain, working with a control group in a traditional way and an experimental group with the use of the hologram. A test of knowledge about cell division contents was answered so as to know if there were significant differences between the results obtained by the two groups. The statistic U of Mann-Whitney of the non-parametric mean comparison test showed that there is a significant difference of 2.55 points, at 0.05 level, between results obtained in both groups. Moreover, there was also assessed the level of motivation and satisfaction when using the tool for the purpose of knowing their opinion for the future use and development of the tool. The results obtained lead us to consider the hologram as a potential teaching medium as well as a highly motivational tool.

Considerations about flip education in the teaching of advanced mathematics
Jordán, Cristina; Magreñán, Á. Alberto; Orcos, Lara (Education Sciences, 28/08/2019)The changes in our society in recent years and the consequent idiosyncrasy of young people demand new teaching methodologies. The methodology known as flip teaching, in which pupils study the subject before the class ... -
Different methods for solving STEM problems
Argyros, Ioannis K; Magreñán, Á. Alberto; Orcos, Lara ; Sarría, Íñigo ; Sicilia, Juan Antonio (Journal of Mathematical Chemistry, 05/2019)We first present a local convergence analysis for some families of fourth and six order methods in order to approximate a locally unique solution of a nonlinear equation in a Banach space setting. Earlier studies have used ... -
Unified local convergence for newton's method and uniqueness of the solution of equations under generalized conditions in a Banach space
Argyros, Ioannis K; Magreñán, Á. Alberto; Orcos, Lara ; Sarría, Íñigo (Mathematics, 05/2019)Under the hypotheses that a function and its Frechet derivative satisfy some generalized Newton-Mysovskii conditions, precise estimates on the radii of the convergence balls of Newton's method, and of the uniqueness ball ...
