dc.descriptionThis paper aims to examine the Ibero-American journals of education in SciELO Citation Index and in Emerging Source Citation Index, which are two new products of Web of Science. Ibero-American journals of education are analyzed both individually and jointly, considering their coverage in comparison with other external data bases (Scopus, Redalyc, Google Scholar Metrics, and Social Sciences Citation Index) as well as the presence of these journals in other databases. Other aspects such as national representation, type of publisher, frequency, the age and the average production of scientific articles are considered. All in all, Web of Science has a better coverage in the area of Ibero-American education as compared with its rival, Scopus.es_ES
dc.description.abstractEl presente trabajo es un análisis de las revistas de Educación iberoamericanas en SciELO Citation Index y Emerging Source Citation Index, dos de los nuevos productos incorporados a Web of Science. Para ello se analizan las revistas de Educación iberoamericanas presentes en estos productos, por separado y conjuntamente. Se compara su cobertura con otras bases de datos externas referentes (Scopus, Redalyc, Google Scholar Metrics and, Social Sciences Citation Index) así como la presencia de las revistas estudiadas en otras bases de datos. Igualmente se analizan características de las revistas como la representatividad por países, la tipología editorial, periodicidad de las cabeceras, antigüedad y la producción medida en artículos. En definitiva, Web of Science demuestra cubrir mejor el área de Educación Iberoamericana que su rival Scopus.es_ES
