| dc.description | This article examines the origins and development of Qajar photography in Iran, from its emergence in 1842 to the early 20th century. It makes connections between the actors involved in its rapid development, focusing on the figure of Shah Naser al-Din, who promoted photography and was himself a prominent photographer. The text examines the contribution of important photographers in these early years, who were mainly foreigners but also representatives of the Qajar court. | dc.description.abstract | Este artículo investiga los orígenes y el desarrollo de la fotografía qajar en Irán, desde sus primeras manifestaciones en 1842 hasta comienzos del siglo xx. Relaciona los agentes que intervinieron en su rápido progreso, con especial atención a la figura del sah Naser al-Din, quien impulsó la fotografía y además se destacó en este arte. Se analizan las aportaciones de otros fotógrafos importantes en estos primeros años, sobre todo extranjeros, pero también representantes de la corte Qajar.
