masterThesisResumen:
The object of study of this research is the novel Sin (2016) written by the Colombian author Laura Restrepo. The perspective of analysis belongs to the field of psychoanalysis, mainly to the one that corresponds to the theories of Jacques Lacan, whose theoretical advances are known within this discipline as the "Lacanian orientation."
Restrepo's novel works around the theme of evil and its presence in different characters and their stories, narrated independently and separated into chapters; for this work, three of them have been selected for being considered the most relevant regarding the theme of evil: The promise, Elephant hair and Love without feet or head.
Four fundamental concepts have been selected from Lacanian theory: perversion, phantom, act and jouissance, that serve as analysis tools to elucidate the psychic mechanisms that motivate the characters and that provide logical structure to their stories. In approaching literary research from the psychoanalytic field, the need to explain the effect produced on the reader by the narrative texture, for this, an analysis of the narratological elements most worked by the author in each chapter studied is presented.
