Nuestro proyecto, que hemos titulado Art in the Dark, hace converger el contenido
Education is compulsory between the ages of six and sixteen, this means ten years of
schooling. It is necessary to integrate in the school all the subjects of the society. During these
years, students, without discrimination of any kind, will develop their social skills. In today's school,
students with and without disabilities the same classrooms. Each and every one of the subjects
must be conceived and planned from this perspective. Art should not be an exception.
This proposal takes advantage of the multi and multidisciplinarity of Contemporary Art, it is
designed to be taught with the Projects Based Learning (from now on PBL) methodology. All the
students of the class can experiment and put in practice their artistic processes at the same time
that they work in social inclusion and reflect on disability or functional diversity. For this matter, we
have chosen to incorporate several students with partial or total blindness so that the students
experiment and reflect beyond their visual sense, the creations they make and how the blind will
experience them.
According to the Buck Institute for Education (2010), PBL not only motivates students
because it makes them active in their learning. But it also prepares them for their professional
future, the modern economy and the potential challenges of the Society of 21st Century. It is a
perfect guide for personal development and professional success. When working with PBL
teachers make education revive for students. As a result, students develop a deep knowledge of
content, as well as critical thinking, creativity and communication skills.
Our project, Art in the Dark, brings together the curricular content of Volume I and inclusive
education through activities and experiences. Through the multisensorial perspective of
Contemporary Art. The students will have the opportunity to integrate in an art class, other blind
students via experiences in which tactility is also considered as a way to approach art.
