El siguiente trabajo incide en la importancia del uso de una metodología alternativa como es el “Enfoque Multisensorial” en el aprendizaje del idioma inglés como segunda lengua (L2) en las aulas de Educación Infantil. El currículo español resalta la importancia del acercamiento y aprendizaje de otros idiomas, despertando el interés y la curiosidad hacía el conocimiento de otras lenguas en los alumnos desde edades muy tempranas. Con este fin, conoceremos los métodos tradicionales y nuevos para la enseñanza de la segunda lengua, centrándonos en la metodología multisensorial que está basada en la utilización de más de un sentido en el proceso de aprendizaje. La finalidad que queremos conseguir es trabajar de forma global sin dividir la mente del cuerpo a través de una metodología motivadora, activa y significativa para los alumnos. Del mismo modo, detallaremos los beneficios de esta metodología y describiremos los recursos y materiales sensoriales como estrategias de aprendizaje.

The following dissertation stresses upon the importance of using alternative teaching methodologies such as the “Multi-sensory Approach” in the process of learning English as a second language (L2) in preschool education. The Spanish curriculum highlights the importance of approaching and learning other foreign languages, awakening students´ interest and curiosity towards the knowledge of other languages starting from early ages. With this purpose we will explore the traditional and new methods of teaching English as a second language; however we will focus on the multi-sensory approach. This method is based on the use of more than one sense in the learning process. Our aim is to seek a global mode of learning without having to divide mind from body by means of using a motivating, active and meaningful methodology for students. Likewise we will detail the benefits of this approach and describe the sensory resources and materials used as a learning strategy.
