Physical Education is a mandatory subject in the Secondary School Curriculum and as we can guess from its name, this subject refers to the knowledge of the human body, its physic, its training, its care, its hygiene and habits to have as healthy as possible life. In the schools, the time dedicated to this subject is regulated by the Public Administration and it is two hours a week. This time is very short, if we take into account that for most students from that age, the Physical Education class is the only sport they practice. For this reason, the teachers from this subject have to manage and control the time properly. This research was made with students from different years of ESO in a semiprivate school from Barcelona’s area, analyzing the different times in the classes of Physical Education, the dependent variables of wasting time and the ways of teaching that affect the most in the locomotive commitment time. The results show that the locomotive commitment time is not over 30 minutes of physical practice and that the variables that affect the most about wasting times are the trips to the changing rooms and the clothes changes. Moreover, the guided discovery is the most effective way of teaching to obtain a longer locomotive commitment time.es_ES
