| dc.description | US Latina Writers published by Arte Público Press / Escritoras latinas de EE.UU. publicadas por Arte Público Press is a digital exhibit that facilitates research on the content, themes, and the contemporary reception of texts authored by US Latinas and published by Arte Público Press over the last forty years (1984–2024). The project seeks to highlight the literary legacy of US Latinas and focuses on books originally printed by Arte Público Press, a publishing house that, since its founding in 1979, has compiled an extensive bibliography of documents related to Hispanic culture in the U.S. The exhibit features 141 literary works by 76 Chicana/Latina writers, spanning both fiction and nonfiction across a range of genres, including narrative, poetry, drama, essays, interviews, and albums. By providing valuable online resources, the project offers insights into the contemporary Latino/x literary landscape of the U.S. Southwest. It also promotes a deeper understanding of the history of Latinos in the United States, their values, struggles, family dynamics, connections to indigenous heritage, power relations, interactions with nature, and their contributions to U.S. literature. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | El objetivo del proyecto es promover una colección digital que albergue la producción literaria de las autoras latinoamericanas en los Estados Unidos publicadas por Arte Publico Press en los últimos cuarenta años (1984 – 2024) con el fin de difundir su legado literario y facilitar la investigación sobre sus contenidos, temas y recepción contemporánea de sus textos. Las escritoras y los títulos reunidos en la colección digital es una transposición al formato digital de libros impresos por Arte Público Press (https://artepublicopress.com/), casa editorial que, desde su creación en 1979, ha compilado una amplia bibliografía de documentos de cultura hispana de los Estados Unidos. En total se incluyeron 141 obras literarias de 76 escritoras chicanas y latinas, abarcando textos de ficción y no ficción de todos los géneros: narrativa, poesía, textos dramáticos, ensayos, entrevistas, álbumes. Así la colección ofrece una información valiosa en línea sobre el panorama literario latino actual del Southwest americano que ayuda a conocer y reflexionar sobre la historia de los latinos en US, sus valores, luchas, relaciones familiares, vínculos con el pasado indígena, con el poder, la naturaleza y su contribución a la literatura estadounidense. | es_ES |
