This Master's thesis provides an approach to the impact of reception policies for migrants
implemented in the Alt Empordà region (Girona) in recent years. It offers a statistical analysis
based on data obtained from a survey, as well as information provided by social intervention
organizations working with this population.
This research utilizes a methodological triangulation, combining quantitative analysis of
resources, service provision, and participation rates with qualitative analysis through
interviews with professionals and interpretation of activity reports.
The main objective of this research is to evaluate the initial impact of First Reception services
on migrants recently arrived in the territory. It aims to raise awareness and facilitate
understanding of migration as a globalized phenomenon, while also serving as a tool for
prevention and intervention against social inequalities and exclusion.
The overarching question to be addressed is: Are reception policies for migrant populations
effective? The study will comprehensively examine quantitative and qualitative data to
provide insights that can inform improved reception policies and promote social inclusion.
Through this research, it is expected to generate knowledge that contributes to the
strengthening of the welfare state and the development of effective solutions to address the
challenges posed by migration.
