A new family of two-steps fourth-order iterative methods for solving nonlinear equations is introduced based on the weight functions procedure. This family is optimal in the sense of Kung-Traub conjecture and it is extended to design a class of iterative schemes with four step and seventh order of convergence. We are interested in analyzing the dynamical behavior of different elements of the fourth-order class. This analysis gives us important information about the stability of these members of the family. The methods are also tested with nonlinear functions and compared with other known schemes. The results show the good features of the introduced class. © 2019 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Stability and applicability of iterative methods with memory
Chicharro, Francisco Israel (1); Cordero, Alicia; Garrido, Neus; Torregrosa, Juan Ramón (Journal of Mathematical Chemistry, 15/03/2019)Based on the third-order Traub’s method, two iterative schemes with memory are introduced. The proper inclusion of accelerating parameters allows the introduction of memory. Therefore, the order of convergence of the ... -
Generating Root-Finder Iterative Methods of Second Order: Convergence and Stability
Chicharro, Francisco Israel (1); Cordero, Alicia; Garrido, Neus; Torregrosa, Juan Ramón (Axioms, 06/05/2019)In this paper, a simple family of one-point iterative schemes for approximating the solutions of nonlinear equations, by using the procedure of weight functions, is derived. The convergence analysis is presented, showing ... -
A new efficient parametric family of iterative methods for solving nonlinear systems
Chicharro, Francisco Israel (1); Cordero, Alicia; Garrido, Neus; Torregrosa, Juan Ramón (Journal of Difference Equations and Applications, 18/09/2019)A bi-parametric family of iterative schemes for solving nonlinear systems is presented. We prove for any value of parameters the sixth-order of convergence of any members of the class. The efficiency and computational ...
