Diseño y validación de un instrumento para la evaluación del proyecto de vida en una muestra de adolescentes colombianos

dc.descriptionThe "life project" is an expression used to describe a plan or a set of goals that a subject clarifies at the end of adolescence to achieve throughout his or her life. In order to guide this population, it is important to establish starting points, with reliable instruments. That is why, in the absence of validated questionnaires for these objectives, the present study is proposed with the objective of designing and validating an instrument that allows identifying the level of clarity of the life project in adolescents, based on an instrumental design, cross-sectional, non-experimental with a non-probabilistic sampling in which 1,125 adolescents enrolled in grades 10 and 11 from twenty-eight educational institutions in six municipalities of Colombia participated, both public (76.5 %) and private (23.5 %), with an average 16 years old. Data were collected anonymously in compliance with the regulatory requirements of the Declaration of Helsinki. For the validation process of the instrument, first, the theoretical considerations of the research were addressed. Secondly, the review was carried out by experts. The third stage involves a delimitation for the life project variable with the relevant dimensions in it; This provided an initial theoretical construct, in order to precisely recognize the behaviors that best represent that variable, providing the basis to facilitate the construction of the items. Then, the first writing of items begins to build the first version of the instrument; with 212 items, from 9 to 15 items for each of the initial dimensions. This exercise was submitted to judgment by nine experts, who evaluated semantics and syntax, with criteria such as clarity, coherence, relevance and sufficiency. The Content Validity Ratio or CVR was then obtained to provide an improved interpretation of the agreements, based on the total agreement of the judges. In this case, a minimum of .7 was taken, eliminating those items that did not meet this criterion. Then, the CVI was determined as the average of the CVR' of all the items for each dimension, to obtain the Content Validity Index of these, considering “the set of items acceptable if its CVI is greater than .58”. Based on the experts’ observations of the construct, a pilot test of the instrument was carried out. Subsequently, the instrument was administered to the selected sample and, finally, the sources of evidence for validity and reliability of the instrument were analyzed. The final version of the scale had a bifactor structure of eight items with a KMO of .93 with adequate indices of absolute, incremental and parsimony goodness of fit with a CFI, a TLI of .99; the RMSEA gave .025, the SRMR .0141; the AIC of 16952; and, the CIB of 17077. Finally, the reliability of the global scale showed high internal consistency (ω = .85). Therefore,it is concluded that the results obtained demonstrate that it is a reliable and valid instrument to evaluate clarity of the life project in the Colombian adolescent population. Its usefulness in educational contexts is supported by its adequate psychometric properties. Its use is recommended in future research, since its extension and ease of application allow for more reliable results and improve their interpretation. This will contribute to advancing both research and psychopedagogical intervention in school settings.

Para poder orientar a esta población, es importante establecer puntos de partida con instrumentos confiables. Es por ello que, ante la ausencia de cuestionarios validados para estos objetivos, se propone el presente estudio con el objetivo de diseñar y validar un instrumento que permita identificar el nivel de claridad del proyecto de vida en adolescentes. Este reporta un diseño instrumental, transversal, no experimental a partir de un muestreo no probabilístico en el cual participaron 1125 adolescentes escolarizados en los grados 10º y 11º de 28 instituciones educativas de seis municipios de Colombia, tanto de carácter público (76.5 %) como privado (23.5 %), con un promedio de edad de 16 años. La versión final de la escala quedó con una estructura bifactorial de ocho ítems con un KMO de .93 con adecuados índices de bondad de ajuste absoluto, incremental y de parsimonia con un CFI, un TLI de .99; la RMSEA dio .025, la SRMR de .0141; el AIC de 16952; y, el CIB de 17077. Finalmente, la fiabilidad de la escala global mostró una consistencia interna alta (ω = .85). Por ello, se concluye que los resultados obtenidos demuestran que es un instrumento confiable y válido para evaluar claridad del proyecto de vida en la población adolescente colombiana.
