dc.descriptionThe aim of this study is to determine if parental education styles influence on parents support in sport of athletes. The sample consisted of 374 athletes and physical practitioners. In order to measure the different variables were used, an ad hoc Sociodemographic questionnaire, the Oviedo Scale of Infrequency Response (INF-OV) and the Self-Assessment Multifactorial Childhood Adjustment Test (TAMAI). The results showed significant differences in: care education close to mother protectionism (p<.05), mother personalized education (p<.01), father personalized-assistance education (p<.01) and father protectionism (p<.01), in favour of athletes who felt support from parents. On the other hand, mother restriction (p<.01) and father restriction obtained significant differences, in favour of athletes who did not feel support in the practice of physical activity and sport. The regression analysis showed that care education close to mother protectionism (p<.05) and father personalized assistance education (p<.05), are linked with perceived greater support in sport. On the other hand, higher levels of mother restriction (p<.05) and father restriction (p<.05) are related to perceiving less support in the practice of physical activity and sport. It was concluded that athletes who perceived support for physical activity, obtained higher levels of care education close to mother protectionism, mother personalized education, father personalized education and father protectionism.es_ES
dc.description.abstractEl objetivo de este trabajo fue conocer cuáles son las diferencias en los estilos educativos de los padres en practicantes de actividad física y deportistas que perciben apoyo hacia la actividad física y el deporte. La muestra estuvo formada por 374 deportistas y practicantes de actividad física. Se administró un Cuestionario Sociodemográfico ad hoc, el Test Autoevaluativo Multifactorial de Adaptación Infantil (TAMAI) y la Escala de Oviedo de Infrecuencia de Respuesta (INF-OV). Los resultados mostraron diferencias significativas en la educación asistencial-próxima al proteccionismo de la madre (p<.05), educación personalizada de la madre (p<.01), educación asistencial-personalizada del padre (p<.01) y proteccionismo del padre (p<.01), en favor de los deportistas que percibían apoyo en su carrera deportiva. Los análisis de regresión mostraron que a menores niveles de educación asistencial próxima al proteccionismo de la madre (p<.05), proteccionismo del padre (p<.05) y educación asistencial del padre (p<.05) existe menor percepción de apoyo hacia la actividad física y deporte. Se concluyó que los deportistas y practicantes de actividad física que percibieron más apoyo por parte de los padres presentan mayor educación asistencial próxima al proteccionismo de la madre, educación personalizada de la madre, educación asistencial personalizada del padre y proteccionismo del padre.es_ES
