dc.descriptionThis article aims to study the plays of Bances Candamo from a new perspective: the Muslim enemy. In fact, some of Bances' comedies include the figure of the Turk, the Muslim and the Egyptian as characters who destabilise Christian Europe both politically and religiously. This study aims to analyse how the figure of the "Christian enemy" is depicted in the three historical comedies by Bances in which they appear: La Virgen de Guadalupe, El Austria en Jerusalen and La restauracion de Buda. It will therefore focus on determining how Bances describes the enemy through the different actions of these characters in the aforementioned comedies.es_ES
dc.description.abstractEl presente artículo trata de estudiar el teatro banciano desde una perspectiva nueva: la del enemigo musulmán. En efecto, en algunas comedias de Bances aparece la figura del turco, el mahometano y el egipcio como personajes política y religiosamente desestabilizantes para la Europa cristiana. Este estudio pretende analizar cómo se presenta la figura del «enemigo cristiano» en las tres comedias historiales de Bances donde están presentes: La Virgen de Guadalupe, El Austria en Jerusalén y La restauración de Buda. Se tratará, pues, de constatar cómo Bances describe al enemigo a partir de las distintas intervenciones de los personajes de las comedias mencionadas.es_ES
