Relación entre funciones ejecutivas, atención selectiva y consumo de sustancias Psicoactivas en estudiantes

El objetivo principal de ésta investigación es indagar la relación entre funciones ejecutivas, atención y consumo de sustancias en adolescentes; para conseguirlo, se lleva a cabo un análisis de la relación entre la atención selectiva y las funciones ejecutivas en adolescentes consumidores y no consumidores y establecer si existen diferencias entre dichas variables en ambos grupos. Se utilizó una muestra de 64 estudiantes, entre los 13 y 18 años, los cuales fueron divididos en 2 grupos: el primero, constaba de 32 estudiantes sin consumo de sustancias psicoactivas, y el segundo de 32 estudiantes con situación de consumo que se encontraban en tratamiento. Para evaluar las variables se utilizaron las pruebas d2 y Dex-Sp versión española. Los resultados correlacionales obtenidos muestran que no existe relación entre la atención selectiva y las funciones ejecutivas. Sin embargo, al realizar la comparación entre grupos se evidenció que existen diferencias significativas en la variable funciones ejecutivas de ambos grupos señalando que las sustancias psicoactivas pueden tentativamente afectar las funciones ejecutivas mientras que no se encontraron diferencias significativas en la variable atención selectiva. A partir de éste resultado se diseñó una propuesta de intervención que tiene como fin mejorar las funciones ejecutivas y mantener los niveles de atención de adolescentes en situación de consumo, a través de actividades a realizarse en el contexto educativo, contexto familiar y en el abordaje del tratamiento del centro de atención en drogadicción donde son atendidos.

The main objective of this research is to investigate the relationship between executive functions, attention and substance use in adolescents. To achieve this, a correlation analysis was carried out to study the relation between selective atention and executive functions in consumer and nonconsumer adolescents, and establish whether there are differences between groups. A sample of 64 students, between 13 and 18 years-old, was dividied into 2 groups: the first consisted in 32 students without psychoactive substances consumption, and the second, 32 students with a consumption situation in undergoing treatment. To evaluate the variables the d2 tests and Dex-Sp (Spanish version) were used. The correlation results showed no relation between selective attention and executive functions.However, comparing groups, it was evidenced that there are significant differences in executive functions variable, indicating that the psychoactive substances can tentatively affect the executive functions while no significant differences were found in the selective attention variable. Based on this result, a proposal for intervention was designed to improve executive functions and maintain the levels of attention of adolescents in a situation of consumption, through activities to be carried out in the educational context, family context and in the approach of the treatment of drug addiction care center, where they are attended.
