Efecto de la rehabilitación neuropsicológica en pacientes con trastorno del neurodesarrollo

Esta investigación tiene como objetivo comprender las diferencias en calidad de vida y estrés
parental relacionadas con la rehabilitación neuropsicológica en personas con trastornos del
neurodesarrollo y sus padres, atendiendo al sexo de los progenitores. Dependiendo de si los
sujetos habían recibido rehabilitación, se estudió la calidad de vida en 16 menores con
trastorno del neurodesarrollo y el estrés parental en 25 de los respectivos progenitores
atendiendo a su sexo. Se encontró mayor calidad de vida en participantes que recibían
rehabilitación y menor estrés parental en sus progenitores, sin diferencias entre padres y
madres. Las diferencias radicaron dentro del grupo de mujeres, apreciándose mayor estrés
parental en madres de menores que no recibían rehabilitación. Esta investigación podría
impulsar nuevos estudios y políticas gubernamentales que aboguen por incrementar el acceso
a la terapia dado su potencial beneficio.

This research examines the differences in quality of life and parental stress related to
neurorehabilitation in people with neurodevelopmental disorders and their parents, taking
into account the sex of the parents. Considering whether the subjects had received
neuropsychological rehabilitation or not, the levels of quality of life were studied by carrying
out analyzes with the information obtained from 16 children with neurodevelopmental
disorders, and also parental stress was investigated in 25 parents taking into consideration sex
differences between fathers and mothers. The results reveal higher levels of quality of life in
participants receiving neuropsychological rehabilitation and lower levels of parental stress in
parents with any differences . The differences were within the group of women, with higher
parental stress observed in mothers of minors who did not receive rehabilitation. This
research could drive new studies and government policies that advocate for increase the
opportunity to acces to therapy due to its prospective advantage.
