| dc.description | This work examines the spatial elements present in “The Aleph”, by Argentine author Jorge Luis Borges, with special attention to its forms of expression, its symbolic value and its intertextual elements. The aim of this research is to explore the communicability of the poetic images through its symbolic special values and its impact on the reader, according to frameworks by philosopher Gastón Bachelard (2000) and geographer Yi-Fu Tuan (2018). Both focus their studies on the symbolic value of space through the emotional connection that human beings create with places. This dissertation is a first-time attempt to explore the different fictional spaces described and included in “The Aleph” following Bachelard and Yi-Fu Tuan´s perspectives: neighbourhoods, bars, streets, houses and cellars, among others, to discover and examine images within them, their poetical construction, as well as to understand their affective symbology. The notion of intertextuality will also be considered to improve the analysis and the understanding of symbolic meanings of the space in “The Aleph”. Keywords: Borges, | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | El presente trabajo examina los elementos espaciales en el relato “El Aleph” del escritor argentino Jorge Luis Borges, poniendo particular atención en sus formas de expresión, su valor simbólico y sus componentes intertextuales. Este estudio intenta precisar la comunicabilidad de la imagen poética a través de su valor espacial simbólico y afectivo. El análisis se articulará sobre la base de las perspectivas del filósofo Gastón Bachelard (2000) y del geógrafo Yi-Fu Tuan (2018). Ambos focalizan su estudio en la carga simbólica que adquieren los espacios a través del vínculo afectivo que crea el ser humano con su entorno. Aplicando las perspectivas analíticas de estos teóricos, será posible transitar por los distintos espacios ficcionales de “El Aleph”, tales como barrios, bares, calles, casas y sótanos, entre otros, descubrir las imágenes que los habitan e interpretar su simbología. Asimismo, se tendrá en consideración la noción de intertextualidad a fin de enriquecer el análisis y la comprensión de los espacios en “El Aleph”. | es_ES |
