Los beneficios de la literatura en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje están probados y demostrados. Leer es una acción que se inicia desde el individuo y le facilita la comprensión de su entorno. Sin embargo, es también conocido que el apego a la lectura es una asignatura pendiente en la sociedad. Un lector hace una alianza con el autor y su obra literaria cada vez que lee mediante un pacto. Como recompensa, la persona participa en una experiencia lectora, un desequilibrio en forma de una realidad nueva y esto se convierte en una parte desencadenante de su crecimiento como ser humano. Los centros educativos proporcionan un entorno propicio para fomentar el hábito de lectura. Se trata de sembrar una semilla de curiosidad al acto literario para promover la lectura. Resulta esencial comprender cómo es el proceso del acto literario para poder llevarlo a cabo de una forma eficiente. La clase de inglés como segunda lengua (L2) representa un momento idóneo para presentar literatura a los estudiantes y comprobar cómo sienten el afecto a la lectura. De esta forma, los alumnos son capaces de formarse curricularmente mientras despiertan su amor por la literatura.

The benefits of literature in the teaching-learning process are proven and demonstrated. Reading is an action that starts from the individual and eases the understanding of his surroundings. Nevertheless, it is also well known that the attachment to the reading act is a pending matter of the society. Readers make an alliance with the author and the literary work each time they read through a pact. As a reward, the person lives a literary experience, an instability shaped in a new reality and that becomes a triggering factor of his evolution as a human being. The educative centres provide a favourable environment to promote reading habits. It deals with the idea of sowing the seed of literary curiosity in order to encourage reading. It is essential to understand how the literary act is developed to accomplish it effectively. The subject of English as a Second Language (L2) represents an ideal moment to present literature to the students and witness how they feel this reading affection. Thus, students can continue with their curriculum education while awakening their love for literature.
