In this Master's Degree Final Project (TFM) of psych pedagogy of the school branch,
under modality III a proposal is presented before an intervention program based on attention
to the specific needs of children with low vision and total blindness. After exhaustive research
in different sources, authors and organizations, it can be stated that visual impairment has
been increasing considerably and that today approximately one third of the world's
population suffers from some visual impairment WHO (2019).
The population who is part of this alarming figure requires inclusion programs in the
educational and social sphere in order to optimize their participatory and comprehensive
development. But, unfortunately at a social and cultural level there are different
shortcomings that prevent this development; Regarding childhood, special education is
required to promote comprehensive child care, where not only work is done from educational
centers but also in team work with families, given that many times in the family environment
there is no with the necessary knowledge to correct the needs and processes of students with
visual disabilities. For this reason, a psych pedagogical intervention program has been created
to work collectively with families and educational institutions in favor of favoring and
intervening from the orientation in children with low vision and total blindness.
