| dc.description.alternative | This Final Degree Project investigates the profound impact of generative Artificial Intelligence on the contemporary photographic landscape, questioning whether this scenario constitutes a new era or a revolution of the image. Drawing on the concepts of post-photography and post-truth formulated by theorists such as Joan Fontcuberta, the research analyzes the dissolution of the boundaries between captured reality and the synthetic image. The main objective is to determine how AI alters the concept of authorship, and whether photographic practice is shifting from the traditional education of the gaze to an education of the mind through the formulation of prompts. To this end, a theoretical-practical methodology has been employed. On a theoretical level, contemporary studies on visual truth and the evolution of the medium are reviewed. On a practical level, a comparative study is designed, contrasting photographs taken with a camera against homologous images generated by AI algorithms, assessing the viewer's ability to distinguish between them. Preliminary conclusions point to a redefinition of the term 'photographer' and pose new aesthetic and ethical challenges in the interpretation of documentary and artistic images. | |
