dc.description.abstractThe article briefly summarizes the legislative development of the parent¿s constitutional right to share the school control, management and administration. Next, it analizes the outcomes of «participation» in practice, that are so disruptive that the author calls School Board as a «catastrop-hic error». The central point of this paper is to clarify the meaning of «participation» from the seman-tic, conceptual and operative point of view, and to point out that the common sense ought to lay down unfitting use of such a term. At last, it appoints the non-existent impact of the «participation» on teaching-learning effectiviness, and the need that Educational Authorities clearly design the scope fields of School Boards, so that they can avoid the collision with the rest of the individual or collective directive boards, as it presently happens.es_ES
