| dc.description | The aim of this study was to analyze the anxiety and fear responses to death in 228 subjects of legal age and to evaluate the possible influence of sociodemographic and contextual factors on these responses. For this, the Death Anxiety Scale and the revised Collet-Lester Fear of Death Scale were used. The results obtained showed the presence of high levels of anxiety and fear of death in the analyzed sample. Regarding the influence of variables, it was found that age, sex and previous experiences with death, significantly affect to the anxiety and fear experienced. It would be convenient to implement psychoeducational programs to improve the quality of life, promote coping strategies, prevention of pathological grief, favor the death process and the prevention of psychopathologies related to an excessive response of anxiety and fear of death. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | El objetivo del presente estudio ha sido analizar las respuestas de ansiedad y miedo ante la muerte en 228 sujetos mayores de edad y evaluar la posible influencia de factores sociodemográficos y contextuales en dichas respuestas. Para ello, se utilizó la Escala de ansiedad ante la muerte y la Escala revisada de ColletLester de miedo a la muerte. Los resultados obtenidos, evidenciaron la presencia de altos niveles de ansiedad y miedo ante la muerte en la muestra analizada. En cuanto a la influencia de variables, se encontró que la edad, el sexo y las experiencias previas con la muerte, afectan significativamente a la ansiedad y miedo experimentados. Sería conveniente la implementación de programas psicoeducativos para mejorar la calidad de vida, promover estrategias de afrontamiento, prevención del duelo patológico, favorecer el proceso de muerte y la prevención de psicopatologías relacionadas con una respuesta excesiva de ansiedad y miedo ante la muerte. | es_ES |
