Introduction. Childhood cancer survival contrasts with the neurotoxic cost of treatment. This study evaluated the impact of pediatric oncology on everyday executive functions, analyzing the prevalence of impairment, tumor location (CNS vs. Non-CNS), and the family-school gap. Method. Ex post facto cross-sectional design using the BRIEF-2 (family: 𝑛=68; school: 𝑛=54) with non-parametric statistics. Results. The rate of clinical impairment reached 48.15% at school and 36.8% at home. There were no significant differences between the CNS (𝑛=18) and Non-CNS (𝑛=50) groups. The family environment reported greater impairment in Flexibility (𝑝 = .004) and Organization of Materials (𝑝 = .002). Discussion. Executive dysfunction is a common consequence in this population. The lack of significant differences between groups demonstrates the high neurotoxicity of the treatments regardless of the tumor type. The discrepancies suggest that the school structure masks a deficit that is evident in response to family demands.
