Capitalism. An Assesment from Recent Catholic Social Teaching

Abstract

This paper adresses the relationship between Catholic Soail Teaching, bith in official statements and among some Catholic thinkers, about the evolution of capitalism. It contends that Catholic approach to Capitalism is critical, assesing the advantages and limitations of this system alike, being poverty and inequity generated by capitalism itself the main limits of the system. Catholic statements, therefore, claim for a change in the lifestyle among people in the wealthy countries, and to a better distribution of capital and wealth. These claims are increasing in recent years.
