| dc.description | This study examines the association between perceived social support and functional limitation in individuals with fibromyalgia from a quantitative perspective. An observational, cross-sectional, and correlational design was used with a sample of 63 participants. Data were collected through an online form that included the Medical Outcomes Study Social Support Survey (MOS-SSS) and the Revised Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQR). Based on these instruments, an inverse and statistically significant association was found between total perceived social support and functional limitation, although the strength of the association was low. However, no significant associations were found between specific types of social support and the different functional domains. Overall, these findings partially support the initial hypothesis and highlight the importance of considering the global perception of social support as part of the clinical and psychosocial management of fibromyalgia. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Este estudio analiza la relación entre el apoyo social percibido y la limitación funcional en personas con fibromialgia desde un enfoque cuantitativo. Se empleó un diseño observacional, transversal y correlacional con una muestra de 63 personas diagnosticadas. La recogida de datos se realizó mediante un formulario online que incluía los cuestionarios Medical Outcomes Study Social Support Survey (MOS-SSS) y Revised Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQR). A partir de estos instrumentos, se encontró una asociación inversa y significativa entre el apoyo social total percibido y la limitación funcional, aunque de magnitud modesta. Sin embargo, no se hallaron relaciones significativas entre las dimensiones específicas del apoyo social y los distintos dominios funcionales. En conjunto, estos hallazgos respaldan parcialmente la hipótesis planteada y refuerzan la importancia de valorar la percepción global de apoyo social como parte del abordaje clínico y psicosocial de la fibromialgia. | es_ES |
