The prevailing academic discourse concerning camps under Nazism predominantly centers on concentration and extermination camps, often leaving aside other types of camps that operated in a coordinated manner as part of an evolutionary system. This partial perspective is further compounded by the limited scholarly output in the Spanish language that approaches the phenomenon from a holistic standpoint. In light of these considerations, the present study, grounded in a theoretical framework, seeks to examine the subject matter through a systemic lens.
Accordingly, it underscores the shared attributes of a multifaceted and evolving system designed to fulfill clearly articulated objectives: the eradication of the regime’s political and racial adversaries (racial war), and the acquisition of Lebensraum to facilitate the harmonious development of the so-called superior race (war of aggression). In both instances, the camp system functioned as a fundamental instrument of the regime in the pursuit and maintenance of these goals.
