El objetivo de este Trabajo Fin de Estudios, presentado en la Universidad Internacional de La Rioja, es desarrollar MarIA, un sistema de inteligencia artificial que simula un personal shopper para el sector de la venta minorista online. MarIA se basa en técnicas de machine learning, técnicas de procesamiento del lenguaje natural (PLN) y en Large Language Models (LLM) para proporcionar recomendaciones personalizadas de productos de moda mediante la interacción en lenguaje natural con el usuario. MarIA se compone de dos módulos: uno de recomendación, que utiliza algoritmos de recomendación basados en grafos, y otro de interacción, que emplea técnicas de procesado de lenguaje natural y LLMs para generar respuestas adecuadas al contexto y las preferencias del usuario. Este trabajo muestra la evolución constante de los sistemas de recomendación, que han pasado de los enfoques tradicionales basados en filtrado colaborativo o basado en contenido a los enfoques más avanzados basados en redes neuronales, que son capaces de capturar las características latentes de los usuarios y los productos, así como de modelar las relaciones complejas entre ellos. Además, este estudio destaca la relevancia de proporcionar atención personalizada a los clientes, un desafío significativo en el sector mencionado. Especialmente, el auge de las recientes técnicas de LLM, que facilitan la generación de diálogos fluidos y adaptados a cada usuario, considerando sus necesidades y preferencias, permiten abordar este objetivo.

The goal of this final project, presented at the International University of La Rioja, is to develop MarIA, an artificial intelligence system that simulates a personal shopper for the online retail sector. MarIA is based on machine learning techniques and Large Language Models (LLM) to provide personalized fashion product recommendations through natural language interaction with the user. MarIA consists of two modules: a recommendation module, which uses graph-based recommendation algorithms, and an interaction module, which employs natural language processing techniques and LLMs to generate responses tailored to the user’s context and preferences. This work demonstrates the continuous evolution of recommendation systems, which have moved from traditional approaches based on collaborative filtering or content-based filtering to more advanced approaches based on neural networks that can capture the latent features of users and products, as well as model the complex relationships between them. Furthermore, this study highlights the importance of providing personalized attention to customers, a significant challenge in the mentioned sector. Specifically, the rise of recent Large Language Model (LLM) techniques, which facilitate the generation of fluid and user-adapted dialogues by considering their needs and preferences, allows for achieving this objective.
