masterThesisResumen:
This study addresses the issue of hate crimes in sports events, recognizing sports as a crucial
platform for intercultural dialogue and personal development. Despite its potential to
promote social inclusion, the animation in sports often veers towards phobia and violence,
turning sports events into hotspots for the manipulation of prejudices and hatred.
Verbal and physical violence in sports knows no boundaries, affecting even developed and
heterogeneous societies. Fan rivalry, common in sports such as football, basketball, and
tennis, sometimes degenerates into discriminatory and violent behaviors, posing a threat to
the integrity and image of sports.
The study aims to analyze the underlying factors contributing to these crimes, including the
intensification of sports rivalry, and to examine strategies for prevention and mitigation.
Measures such as education and awareness, collaboration between authorities and fans, the
implementation of effective security measures, and legal sanctions for offenders are
highlighted.
The scope review methodology used seeks to comprehensively clarify the issue, exploring
diverse sources and perspectives. Emphasis is placed on the need for collaborative efforts and
unwavering commitment to the fundamental values of sports to build a sports environment
that celebrates diversity, promotes inclusion, and eradicates any manifestation of hatred. The
study aims to provoke a substantive change in sports culture, ensuring that sports events are
safe and welcoming spaces for everyone.
