¿Se estresa el profesorado? Estudio sobre el estrés laboral en el profesorado de un centro de Educación Primaria y Secundaria

En este trabajo se pretende poner de relieve un tema tan importante como es el estrés laboral que vive el profesorado. Para ello, se realiza un estudio sobre el estrés que presenta el profesorado en un centro educativo concreto donde se imparte Educación Primaria y Secundaria. Con la intención de analizar desde diferentes grupos la incidencia del estrés se establecen una serie de variables que permiten agrupar a la muestra según distintas características: el género, la edad, la etapa educativa en la que ejercen y la antigüedad en el desarrollo de la docencia. De este modo, a partir de la administración del cuestionario CBP-R (Moreno, Garrosa y González, 2000) se detecta el nivel de estrés que sufre la muestra.
Los resultados indican que el nivel de estrés que viven los docentes de este centro no es muy alto, pero que sí es considerable en las subesacalas de Estrés de rol y Falta de reconocimiento profesional. Asimismo, se observan puntuaciones más elevadas en los docentes de Primaria frente a los de Secundaria. Las diferencias entre hombres y mujeres también son considerables, habiendo más incidencia de estas subescalas en el género femenino. Los resultados referentes a las variables de edad y años de experiencia no son tan significativos.
A partir de estas constataciones se hace una propuesta de intervención que se ajusta a las características de estos profesores, con el objetivo de reducir su malestar en las subescalas comentadas.

The aim within this paper is to add emphasis on an issue as important as work stress
experienced by the faculty. To do so, a study about stress is carried out in a specific
educational centre of both Primary and Secondary education. With the intention of
analysing, from different groups, the effect of stress, a series of variables are set.
These variables allow grouping the sample according to different features: gender,
age, the educational stage where they teach, and the seniority in the development of
teaching. In this way, from the administration of the questionnaire CBP-R (Moreno,
Garrosa y González, 2000) the stress level experienced by the sample is detected.
The results show that the stress level experienced by the teachers from this centre is
not very high: however, it is indeed worth of consideration within the subscales of
Role Stress and Lack of professional recognition. Likewise, higher scores are
observed in the teachers from Primary education opposite from the ones from
Secondary education. In this sense, the differences between men and women are also considerable, having these subscales more impact on the female gender. Meanwhile, the results referring age and seniority are not that significant.
Based upon these findings, an intervention proposal is made. This proposal fits the
characteristics of these teachers with the aim of reducing their discomfort in the
subscales named above.
