Depressive and anxiety disorders represent the most frequent mental health consultations worldwide, requiring effective biopsychosocial interventions. This systematic review evaluates the impact of Climbing Therapy (CT) on the reduction of anxious and depressive symptomatology. Ten studies were identified across Pubmed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases. The results demonstrate that CT is non-inferior to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in reducing depressive symptoms and is effective in Social Anxiety, Separation Anxiety, and Generalized Anxiety Disorders. The increase in self-efficacy and the induction of the flow state are identified as the primary therapeutic elements. It is concluded that climbing is a safe intervention with high levels of adherence. However, the research indicates that the standardization of intervention protocols is required to ensure the validity and generalizability of the results.
