Este trabajo trata sobre la política italiana de Felipe V entre 1700 y 1748, analizando los principales acontecimientos históricos derivados de la misma y el estudio de las razones que la motivaron, a partir de fuertes secundarias de los principales expertos en la materia. Así pues, se busca reflexionar en torno a la creación de un nuevo orden político en Italia vigente hasta la Unificación y contribuir a la superación de la visión historiográfica que estima a Felipe V como un “loco” o un hombre sumiso a una esposa manipuladora al tiempo que matizar la idea de que España no volvió a ser un estado temido en el orden internacional desde los tiempos de Felipe IV.

This academic work deals with the Italian policy of Philip V between 1700 and 1748, analysing the main historical facts related with it and the study of the reasons which led to it, employing so secondary sources of the main experts on the topic. Therefore, it is aimed to reflect toward the creation of a new political order in Italy lasting until the Unification and to contribute to overcome the historiographical vision which stigmatise Philip V as a “mad man” or a submissive man in front of his manipulative wife while nuancing the idea that Spain has not been a feared state in the international political order from the times of Philip IV.
