Variables protectoras y precipitantes de las redes sociales asociadas a la conducta suicida adolescente.

El objetivo de la presente revisión sistemática es identificar las variables de las redes sociales que en la literatura se señalan como precipitantes o protectoras frente a la conducta suicida adolescente. La metodología empleada fue, basándose en las directrices PRISMA, la selección de revisiones o metaanálisis en las bases de datos Pubmed, Revisiones Cochrane, Scopus y Web of Science. Una vez aplicados los criterios de inclusión/exclusión se obtuvo una muestra de 21 artículos. Se identificaron como variables precipitantes de las redes sociales el tiempo y tipo de uso, el contenido autolesivo en las redes sociales o el ciberbullying, entre otras. Algunas de las variables protectoras que se encontraron fueron su función como medio de búsqueda de apoyo entre iguales y la función de conexión social que ofrecen. Adicionalmente, se identificaron otras variables que podrían mediar en la asociación entre el uso de redes sociales y la conducta suicida adolescente.

The aim of this systematic review is to identify the variables of social networks that are reported in the literature as precipitants or protectors of adolescent suicide. The methodology used was, taking the PRISMA guidelines as a reference, the selection of reviews or meta-analyses in the Pubmed, Cochrane Reviews, Scopus and Web of Science databases. Once the inclusion and exclusion criteria had been applied, a sample of 21 articles was obtained. Precipitating variables were identified as time and type of use, self-injurious content in social networks or cyberbullying, among others. The protective variables found were, among others, their function as a means of seeking peer support and the social connection function they offer. In addition, other variables were identified that could mediate the association between the use of social networks and adolescent suicidal behavior.
