El siguiente trabajo tiene como propósito examinar los elementos espaciales en la novela Mandíbula de la escritora ecuatoriana Mónica Ojeda. Así pues, la investigación pretende responder cómo se presentan los espacios en la narrativa de Ojeda y cómo se construye la estructura espacial. Se precisa tomar en cuenta las formas de expresión, elementos simbólicos y los componentes intertextuales precedidos desde el punto de vista del filósofo Otto Friedrich Bollow (1903) y el geógrafo Yi fu Tuan (1930). La forma metódica y sistemática que reciben los espacios a través del enlace subjetivo que dan las personas en su medio ambiente, otorgan un análisis en las obras narrativas. El enfoque cualitativo de este proyecto permite desempeñar un diseño de carácter bibliográfico-documental. Finalmente, se pretende analizar los elementos descriptivos espaciales y presentar conclusiones sobre la base de resultados de la investigación.

The following paper aims to examine the spatial elements in the novel Mandíbula by the Ecuadorian writer Mónica Ojeda. Thus, the research aims to answer how spaces are presented in Ojeda’s narrative and how the spatial structure is constructed. It is necessary to take into account the forms of expression, symbolic elements and intertextual components preceded from the point of view of the philosopher Otto Friedrich Bollow (1903) and the geographer Yi Fu Tuan (1930). The methodical and systematic form that the spaces receive through the subjective link given by the people in their environment, grant an analysis in the narrative works. The qualitative approach of this project allows to perform a bibliographic-documentary design. Finally, it is intended to analyze the spatial descriptive elements and present conclusions based on research results.
