En el marco de este Trabajo de Fin de Máster se pretende analizar cómo la financiación de proyectos científicos del programa Acciones Marie Sklodowska-Curie (MSCA, programa que forma parte de Horizonte 2020, Programa Marco de Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación de la Comisión Europea) ha contribuido a la capacitación de entidades y personal investigador de América Latina y Caribe y (ALC) a la consecución de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) de la Agenda 2030. Para ello, se realizará por una parte una revisión histórica sobre la relevancia de la ciencia, la colaboración científica internacional y la generación de capacidades en el ámbito del desarrollo. Por otra parte, se diseñará, ejecutará y analizarán los resultados de una encuesta dirigida a recoger información estadística sobre determinados aspectos de la participación ALC, para así confirmar o refutar la hipótesis establecida asociada a la relación entre MSCA, la generación de capacidades en entidades ALC y la ejecución de ODS.

Within the framework of this master’s Thesis, the aim is to analyse how the financing of scientific projects of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions programme (MSCA, part of Horizon 2020, Framework Programme for Research, Development and Innovation of the European Commission) has contributed to both the capacity building of entities and researchers from Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda. To this end, a historical review will be carried out on the relevance of science, international scientific collaboration, and capacity building in the field of development. On the other hand, the results of a survey aimed at collecting statistical information on certain aspects of LAC participation will analysed, so as to confirm or refute the hypothesis initially established focused on the relationship between the MSCA programme, capacity building in LAC entities and the implementation of SDGs.
