La retórica y la oratoria son dos elementos que están presentes en la mayor parte de los actos comunicativos. Durante los procesos de selección artística pueden convertirse en elementos cruciales que determinen el hecho de que una persona resulte seleccionada o no, especialmente cuando las habilidades artísticas mostradas están igualadas con el resto de aspirantes. Sin embargo, ambos elementos suelen ser pasados por alto o no considerados a la hora de preparar una audición o un casting, pues la tendencia habitual es la de llevar muy entrenada la actividad artística en sí, obviando el inmenso poder de persuasión que pueden llegar a ofrecer las habilidades retóricas y oratorias antes, durante y después de la prueba artística per se. Este estudio parte de esta premisa para ahondar en todos los aspectos que se desarrollan y tienen lugar en el ámbito de las pruebas de selección artística, focalizando la atención en los aspectos retóricos y oratorios que forman parte del proceso, con la intención de dar luz y servir de ayuda a los futuros artistas.

Rhetoric and oratory are two elements hidden from the naked eye but at the same time present in most communicative acts. During artistic selection processes, they can become crucial elements that determine whether a person is selected or not, especially when the artistic skills displayed are on a par with the rest of the applicants. However, they are often overlooked or not considered when preparing for an audition or casting, as the usual tendency is to be highly trained in the artistic activity itself, ignoring the immense power of persuasion that rhetorical and oratorical skills can offer before, during and after the artistic test. This study starts from this premise and delves into all the aspects that take place in the artistic selection tests, focusing attention on the rhetorical and oratorical aspects that form part of the process, with the intention of shedding light on and helping future artists.
