Resumen:
El presente trabajo investigativo pretende mostrar la Memoria de Gestión para optar a la
jefatura del servicio de ginecología y obstetricia del Hospital Básico Miguel León Bermeo
ubicado en el Cantón Chunchi (Ecuador), siendo esta una especialidad encargada de
aplicar estrategias para obtener un buen resultado al finalizar el embarazo considerando
que es una de las etapas más importantes en la mujer. La presentación de esta memoria
tiene como objeto documentar e informar de manera descriptiva el trabajo y la evolución
del área de ginecología y obstetricia durante los últimos cinco años para fortalecer los
lineamientos definidos por el Ministerio de Salud Pública, y su aplicación en territorio
permitiendo adecuar espacios y flujos que garanticen la correcta evaluación y
categorización los factores de riesgo obstétrico durante la consulta, priorizando la
atención oportuna a este grupo vulnerable de acuerdo a la capacidad resolutiva de cada
establecimiento de salud; Además, haciendo uso racional y óptimo de los recursos, bajo el
enfoque de prevención de riesgos en la gestación que tiene como punto fundamental
reducir la morbimortalidad materno – neonatal en el Cantón. Este documento también
servirá para llevar a cabo un plan de actuación para optar a la Jefatura de la unidad
médica poniendo en práctica los conocimientos adquiridos en el Máster Universitario en
Dirección y Gestión Sanitaria.

The present research document aims to show the Management Report to opt for the
head of the gynecology and obstetrics service of the Miguel León Bermeo Basic Hospital
located in the Chunchi Canton (Ecuador), this being a specialty in charge of applying
strategies to obtain a good result at the end of the pregnancy when end the pregnancy
considering that it is one of the most important stages in women. The purpose to present
this memory is to document and inform in a descriptive way the work and evolution of
the area of the area of gynecology and obstetrics during the last five years to strengthen
the guidelines defined by the Ministry of Public Health, and its application in the territory
allowing to adapt spaces and flows that guarantee the correct evaluation and
categorization of obstetric risk factors during the consultation, prioritizing timely care for
this vulnerable group according to the resolution capacity of each health facility; In
addition, making rational and optimal use of resources, under the approach of risk
prevention in pregnancy whose fundamental point is to reduce maternal and neonatal
morbidity and mortality in the Canton. This document will also serve to carry out an
action plan to opt for the Head of the medical unit, putting into practice the knowledge
acquired in the Master's Degree in Health Management and Administration.
