Novel Group Decision Making methods and Web 2.0 have augmented the quantity of data that experts have to discuss about. Nevertheless, experts are only capable of dealing with a reduced set of information. In this paper, a novel method for dealing with decision environments that include a large set of alternatives is presented. By the use of clustering methods, the available alternatives are combined into clusters according to their similarity. Afterwards, one Group Decision Making process is employed for choosing a cluster and another one for selecting the final alternative. (C) 2020 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V. Dealing with group decision-making environments that have a high amount of alternatives using card-sorting techniques
Morente-Molinera, Juan Antonio; Ríos Aguilar, Sergio ; González-Crespo, Rubén ; Herrera-Viedma, Enrique (Expert Systems with Applications, 01/08/2019)Due to the appearance of Web 2.0 technologies and smartphones, the amount of information available to carry out group decision-making processes has increased dramatically. Therefore, there is a need for group decision-making ... -
Managing multi-criteria group decision making environments with high number of alternatives using fuzzy ontologies
Morente-Molinera, Juan Antonio ; Kou, Gang; González-Crespo, Rubén ; Corchado, J M; Herrera-Viedma, Enrique (Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications, 2018)The high amount of information that modern multi-criteria group decision making environments must handle requires the development of novel methods. These methods should be able to work with high amounts of alternatives ... -
Solving multi-criteria group decision making problems under environments with a high number of alternatives using fuzzy ontologies and multi-granular linguistic modelling methods
Morente-Molinera, Juan Antonio ; Kou, G; González-Crespo, Rubén ; Corchado, J M; Herrera-Viedma, Enrique (Knowledge-Based Systems, 12/2017)Classic multi-criteria group decision making models that have a high amount of alternatives are unmanageable for the experts. This is because they have to provide one value per each alternative and criteria. In this paper, ...
