Now, applied Didactics directs its attention to the teaching principles of motivation, maturation, organization and practice. In this article the author poses the problems of «reading maturation» and «reading readiness» as a fundament of the teaching of reading in order to avoid the numberless failures in this kind of teaching. Owing to the lack of standard test, he has to show the fittest tests to determine the «reading readiness» after having studied the general problem of maturation and reading maturation. At the end of his article, he includes a series of exercises to develop the reading aptitudes of illiterate pupils. grouped within the usual models of the specialists of reading initiation.

Missionary work, which includes the missioner, his activity, the mission in itself and missionary doctrine, taken in its catholic sense and from a pedagogical point of view, presents certain analogies on one side, since missionary work, when it aims to the salvation of souls, has teaching as one of its principal natural means; on the other side it reveals the pedagogical contributions of missioners, which have not yet properly studied, and also the educational value of missionary ideal especially on children and young people. The authoress, after finding out these relationships, points out the one which has arisen from the educational problemes in missionary countries and which now demands a missionary Pedagogy within the field of differential Pedagogy.

The author poses the twofold problem of if the teacher becomes a truly efficient cause in education and to which class this causality belongs. Grounded on St. Thomas Aquinus' «De Veritate» (I. q. XI) he analizes the concept of efficient cause in its various forms, principal, instrumental, perfective, preparatory, auxiliary, consilient and besides he tries to find out to which of them the action of the teacher on the pupil corresponds. It is not a perfective causality since the pupil is free to assimilate or not the influence of his teacher but it is above the «per accidens» cause and also above the dispositive one. It is the coadjuvant cause of the pupil s genuine activity. The peculiar notes of this causality of the teacher are both the use of signs as instrumental, intermediate causes and purpose.
