Sánchez-Camacho, Carlos; Miguel San-Emeterio, Begoña; Carranza, Rocío; Feijoo, Beatriz
The past two decades have seen a significant rise in research exploring the applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in digital marketing. This study conducts a comprehensive bibliometric analysis to map the intellectual evolution of this field, offering a longitudinal perspective across two periods: 2000–2021 and 2022–2024. Using SciMAT, the research identifies motor, transversal, emerging, and specialized themes, highlighting key topics such as recommender systems, anthropomorphism, natural language processing (NLP), and social media marketing. The findings reveal how foundational themes, like technology acceptance and user-generated content, have evolved into advanced applications focused on real-time personalization, consumer interaction, and automated decision-making. This work not only outlines the conceptual structure of AI in digital marketing but also identifies critical gaps and future research opportunities. Practical implications are provided for industry professionals, emphasizing strategies for leveraging AI-driven tools to enhance customer engagement, optimize campaigns, and foster trust. By mapping the progression of research themes, this study offers a roadmap for academics and practitioners aiming to navigate the dynamic landscape of AI in digital marketing.

<description>Evolution, trends and future research lines in corporate social responsibility and tourism: A bibliometric analysis and science mapping [Dataset]
Sánchez-Camacho, Carlos; Carranza, Rocío; Martín-Consuegra, David; Díaz, Estrella
Corporate Social Responsibility has become a topic of growing interest in countless areas, and the number of studies focused on researching different CSR aspects is increasing. Nevertheless, this type of research within the tourism sector is less developed compared to other fields. Consequently, a significant research opportunity in the tourism industry has been detected. Therefore, this study uses the SciMAT software to analyse 1800 articles published on CSR within the tourism field through the co-word analysis technique. Findings led to conclude that the entire scientific production within this field is composed of eight major thematic areas: (1) Business activity-financial performance, (2) Attitude and behaviour, (3) Marketing perspective, (4) Sustainable tourism, (5) Sustainability, (6) Governmental action, (7) Environmental awareness and motivation, and (8) Impact of major events. Additionally, interpretation of the main findings of the bibliometric analysis and implications for future trends of CSR in the tourism field has been discussed.

<title>An analysis of the scientific literature produced on bank marketing through bibliometrics and scientific mapping – what has been the role of sales in banking? [Dataset]</title>

<description>An analysis of the scientific literature produced on bank marketing through bibliometrics and scientific mapping – what has been the role of sales in banking? [Dataset]
Sánchez-Camacho, Carlos; Martín-Consuegra, David; Carranza, Rocío
The purpose of this article is to provide an integrated, synthesised overview of the current state of knowledge in the field of bank marketing. This aim prompts us to seek to determine the role of studies on sales within commercial banking literature, to contribute to the flow of new knowledge and to orient both researchers and practitioners with regard to current issues and findings. Design/methodology/approach: This study employs a combined process of bibliometric analysis and scientific mapping using keyword co-occurrence analysis and a representation of relationships by clustering and their longitudinal arrangement. A total of 1,203 articles were analysed using SciMAT. Findings: The entire conceptual structure of bank marketing is organised into 12 major thematic areas. These are comprised of a set of main topics during each period, changing from one phase to another. The initial periods exhibit less depth in the pursuit of lines of work on bank marketing. The most recent periods show that interest centres on users' acceptance of online and mobile banking, along with the traditional concepts of satisfaction, loyalty and trust. However, it was determined that sales-related topics have never occupied a central role in the bank marketing academic literature. Research limitations/implications: This study draws up a scientific map that serves as a guide to perceive what has been done thus far in the area of bank marketing. The detection of specific sub-topics allows for the application of other synthesis techniques, such as meta-analysis. The study's main limitation lies in the difficulty of synthesising all the papers published on bank marketing literature. Originality/value: The number of disciplines in which bibliometric analyses are used to synthesise and visually portray the whole bodies of scientific literature is increasing. This study maps out the gradual advancement in the field over the years and could serve as a valuable reference for researchers and practitioners interested in bank marketing. Consequently, the conclusions of this retrospective analysis might be considered a summary of its conceptual structure and a comparable foundation for future studies. © 2020, Emerald Publishing Limited.

[Resumen no disponible]
Purpose – Despite the growing number of publications in the field of B2B buying behaviour and customer service value, the existing research remains fragmented and lacks a cohesive framework for understanding these interrelated domains. The primary aim of this research is to conduct a systematic literature review of B2B buying behaviour and customer service value over the past twenty years. Design/methodology/approach – Utilising bibliometric tools SciMAT and VOSviewer, authors analyse the performance and evolution of these themes in the B2B context. Findings – The results offer a framework for pinpointing research needs for both academia and industry, highlighting thematic areas that have received varying degrees of attention, and providing a roadmap for future research by assessing the status of the domain. Practical implications – Based on the evolution map presented and looking to the future, authors recommend that scholars examine four areas of research: sales innovation, smart technologies, alliances and markets and, online buying, which offer opportunities for further exploration. Originality/value – This approach provides a framework for establishing research needs for academia and industry, identifying areas that have had less or even more focus in recent years to provide a roadmap for future research, and analysing and identifying the status of the domain. Keywords – Bibliometric analysis, Business-to-business (B2B), Buying behaviour, Customer service value, SciMAT, VOSviewer Paper type – Research article

<description>Non-coding RNA molecules mediating skeletal muscle mitochondrial function and their potential applications in exercise molecular physiology: A systematic review
Chavez-Guevara, Isaac A.; Vázquez-Lorente, Héctor; Herrera-Quintana, Lourdes; Rubio-Valles, Mariazel; López, Luis C.; Plaza-Diaz, Julio; Amaro-Gahete, Francisco J.
This systematic review investigates the role of non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), including miRNAs, lncRNAs, circRNAs, and tRNAs, in regulating mitochondrial biogenesis, dynamics, oxidative phosphorylation, and mitophagy in skeletal muscle and the potential applications of these ncRNAs in exercise molecular physiology. We conducted a comprehensive search in PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases, identifying 45 relevant studies out of 2,378 records. The main findings indicate that miRNAs such as miR-128, miR-133a, miR-696, and miR-499 are critical regulators of mitochondrial function. Moreover, lncRNAs (lncEDCH1 and lncRNA-H19) and circRNA (circ-PTPN4) significantly influence mitochondrial biogenesis and function. Exercise interventions were shown to modulate the expression of these ncRNAs, particularly miR-133a and miR-696, leading to enhanced mitochondrial biogenesis and function. The review highlights the potential of these ncRNAs as biomarkers and therapeutic targets for improving mitochondrial function and treating metabolic and mitochondrial disorders. Further research is needed to explore the muscle-specific and exercise-modality-specific effects of ncRNAs to develop personalized interventions. Understanding the complex regulatory mechanisms of ncRNAs in mitochondrial adaptations can pave the way for innovative therapeutic strategies in exercise molecular physiology and metabolic health.

Neira Placer, Paula; Feijoo, Beatriz; Fernández-Gómez, Erika
This study investigates the data-sharing practices of children aged 10 to 14 in Spain during their interactions with brands in online environments. It specifi-cally examines digital literacy on data protection, sharing contexts, and factors in-fluencing understanding and management of personal information. Methodology:To this end, a qualitative study was conducted based on 35 semi-structured inter-views. Results: Findings show most children are reluctant to share personal infor-mation due to distrust. Some practice selective disclosure when they perceive a brand as trustworthy or the request unavoidable. Their understanding of how per-sonal data is used and their awareness of digital rights remain limited. Although participants identify technological, economic, and personal risks, trust tends to increase when brands appear familiar or professionally designed. Promotional con-tent is often met with scepticism. Parental mediation—particularly among girls—often reinforces control through fear-based messaging. Conclusion: Risk percep-tion shapes children’s data management strategies, but fear-based educational models may limit their autonomy.

This article presents a historical and theological overview of moral theology, from its evangelical and patristic roots to the renewal movements of the 20th century. Special attention is given to the medieval development, with the scholastic synthesis of Thomas Aquinas, and to the subsequent crisis marked by the separation between dogma and morality, law and spirituality. From the Second Vatican Council onwards, new paths emerge for a renewed Christian moral theology, centered on the kerygma, wisdom, and Trinitarian life. The article proposes a moral vision grounded in virtue, discernment, and spiritual wisdom embodied in Christian life.

<description>Word associations in Mexican school children
Arias Trejo, Natalia; Barrón Martínez, Julia Beatriz; Robles Aguirre, Francisco Abelardo; Minto García, Aline
Free Word Associations reflect how words are organized in the lexicon. They have been generally performed with young and elderly adults. However, very little is known about semantic organization in school-age children. The current research presents associations for 60 words acquired early in life with 484 children between the ages of 6 and 12, who attended either public or private schools. We provide eight association measures traditionally reported. A trajectory analysis identified that changes in associations are non-linear and more gradual in children attending public schools compared to those attending private schools. Public school students exhibit higher associative strength indices, indicating a more interconnected lexicon. Although the number of blank responses is small in both populations, idiosyncratic responses decrease among public school children but not among those from private schools, suggesting an increase in vocabulary. Analyses on the type of lexical relations and the type of grammatical responses (paradigmatic versus syntagmatic) showed that children preferred to provide taxonomic and paradigmatic responses. However, neither response type increased significantly in correlation with their level of education.

<title>Application of the Digital Competence Framework for Educators in developing areas in Kenya</title>
<link>https://reunir.unir.net/handle/123456789/18195</link>
<description>Application of the Digital Competence Framework for Educators in developing areas in Kenya
Lajarreta, Iratxe; Padilla-Zea, Natalia; Corbi, Alberto
Contribution: The European Commission’s Digital Competence Framework for Educators (DigCompEdu) was applied&#13;
and evaluated in hard-to-reach areas of Kenya, showing it can represent a valuable tool for quickly enhancing digital competences&#13;
among rural school teachers. Background: Despite efforts made by the Kenyan government to promote digital literacy, rural&#13;
areas remain largely underserved. A previous survey highlighted significant disparities, including limited access to computers and&#13;
digital resources. As a result, teachers in non-urban areas face considerable disadvantages compared to their metropolitan counterparts, hindering their ability to integrate ICT effectively into education. Research question: Can DigCompEdu be an effective&#13;
framework for swiftly enhancing digital literacy among educators in impoverished educational communities? Methodology: Using&#13;
Homa Bay County (a region with a low literacy rate) as a case study, 45 teachers (23 rural schools) were asked to participate in&#13;
DigCompEdu-aligned training sessions. A Moodle-based platform was developed for this purpose, and an ad hoc no-code mobile&#13;
application (DiGuardian) was custom created to offer a curated library of digital tools. This knowledge base was categorized&#13;
based on the usability, performance, compatibility and license of each service/application, paying attention to the specific nomadic&#13;
context. The progress of each teacher was evaluated using the SELFIEforTEACHERS methodology, a key DigCompEdu component. Findings: Initial self-assessments revealed that almost 80% of participants considered that they did not even meet the intermediate level digital skills defined by DigCompEdu. Following the training, this scenario improved dramatically, showcasing the framework’s effectiveness for fostering digital literacy among educators in remote African communities.

<description>Modeling the physiological response of Flow in groups: a mathematical approach
Rosas Espín, David; Padilla-Zea, Natalia; Burgos, Daniel
This paper advances in the understanding of motivation in terms of fow in groups from a physiological perspective. We use wearable devices to monitor the heart rate variation during a set of sessions of face-to-face STEAM project-based learning. By using Action Research with mixed-methods design, we observed a set of 28 students in real-world settings during 18 classes and used both customized and commercial tools to analyze data retrieved. Based on the cognitive absorption and motivation obtained from EduFlow-scale-based physiological data, we propose mathematical models to predict the Flow that a group will experience in a teaching–learning session. Our preliminary results may challenge the central axiom of Flow Theory, while clarifes&#13;
the balance hypothesis.

<description>Physiological flow-clutch states identification within the eduflow scale in educational STEAM real-word scenarios
Rosas-Espín, David; Padilla-Zea, Natalia; Heutte, Jean; Burgos, Daniel
This paper focuses on the physiological identification of Clutch-Flow states in real-world educational scenarios. By using the Eduflow scale and Polar H10 wearable devices, we develop two STEAM face-to-face project-base teaching-learning experiences with students in 5th and 6th grade of primary education. Based on Heart Rate Variation (HRV) recorded for 18 one-hour sessions and their comparison to responses obtained in 181 EduFlow questionaries filled in by students after each session, a Kubios-based analysis was performed, obtaining a total of 127 reports about HVR. The main findings of this study reveal multiple and meaningful correlations between physiological data and the flow phenomenology in group of students; and a proposal to identify clutch states based on the EduFlow scale results.

Gallifantes and motivation’ is a teaching innovation project intended to foster students to participate in the university online campus of UNIR, a fully online university. Although students at UNIR are used to studying in an online independent way, it is well known that having a learning community and a confident-based relationship with mates enhance learning results. Intended to promote a lively interaction between students, both in the forums and in synchronous lessons, this teaching innovation project proposes gallifantes-rewarded actions during the semester in a competitive run. The 4 students with the highest numbers of gallifantes obtain 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1 additional points in the final grade. In this paper, we present the different approaches followed in 3 subjects in the areas of technology and design, having a total number of 114 active students and 1164 gallifantes rewarded. The students answered a survey at the end of the process. As a conclusion, most of them supports the initiative, obtaining good results in satisfaction, motivation and engagement, while also suggesting improvement opportunities.

<description>Playability: analysing user experience in video games
González-Sánchez, José Luis; Gutiérrez, Francisco L.; Simarro Montero, Francisco; Padilla-Zea, Natalia
Currently, few studies focus on analysing the degree of the Player eXperience (PX) in video games. Video games have now become interactive entertainment systems with a high economic impact on society; these are interactive systems characterised by their subjectivity, which differ from other systems in that their main objective is to entertain and amuse the user (player). This work discusses the analysis and evaluation of the User eXperience (UX) in interactive entertainment systems, exploring how usability, given its definition, objectives and the fact it is one of the main dimensions of UX, is not sufficient to characterise the PX, giving rise to a new concept: Playability. In this paper, we present a framework for the analysis and evaluation of the UX in video games. The results show the need and importance of a framework to help us understand and measure the experience that players feel using these types of interactive systems, in order to improve the experience during play time. The proposed framework characterises the experience using attributes to identify and properties to measure UX. It thus provides a multifaceted analysis mechanism to assess the impact of the gaming experience and its relationship with the elements of a video game. We therefore present a system to represent UX based on this framework, with the aim of ensuring and measuring a satisfactory experience of the entertainment system. Finally, we discuss a practical experiment in which an evaluation of the playability of a commercial video game was carried out using the methods proposed in this work.

<description>Effect of the consumption of lean red meat from beef (pirenaica breed) versus lean white meat (chicken) on the gut microbiota: a randomized cross-over study in healthy young adults

Limited evidence exists regarding the impact of meat consumption on the human gut microbiota, with factors such as animal&#13;
source, production system, and cooking methods often overlooked. This study evaluates the effect of Pirenaica breed beef or&#13;
conventional chicken-based diets on the gut microbiota of healthy adults. A randomized cross-over controlled trial with two&#13;
8-week periods, separated by a 5-week washout, is carried out. Participants consume either Pirenaica breed beef or chicken&#13;
three times per week with their diet. Stool samples are collected at the beginning and end of each period. Gut microbiota is&#13;
analyzed via amplification and sequencing of V3–V4 regions of 16S rRNA. Alpha diversity and relative abundances at phylum&#13;
and genus levels are calculated. Sixteen participants are included (mean age 20.12 ± 2.36 years). Both diets induce modest&#13;
changes inmicrobial composition, with no significant differences between groups. At the phylum level, Bacillota increased, while&#13;
Synergistota, Chloroflexota, and Pseudomonadota decreased. Alpha diversity parameters declined significantly after the chicken-based diet, although overall reduction in microbial diversity was observed across both interventions. The consumption of lean red&#13;
meat or lean white meat as part of habitual diet produces similar effects on the gut microbiota.

<title>Optimization of the Primary Sludge Processing Method for Wastewater Genomic Surveillance of SARS-CoV‑2</title>

Wastewater genomic surveillance (WWGS) of SARSCoV-2 is typically performed using influent wastewater, but the approach&#13;
is challenging due to degradation as well as low target concentrations in wastewater. This could be alleviated by utilizing primary sludge; however, this matrix is prone to sequencing library failures. Our study focuses on developing a robust primary sludge-based SARS-CoV-2 genome sequencing method. The study was conducted using 30 parallel influent wastewater and primary sludge samples collected during three different time periods, under three clinically predominant SARS-CoV-2 Omicron lineages in Ottawa, Canada. Results showed that our approach consistently recovered near-complete (≥90%) SARS-CoV-2 genomes from both influent wastewater and primary sludge samples. Prevalent lineage and single nucleotide variant (SNV) profiles were identical (p &gt; 0.05) between influent wastewater and primary sludge. Further analysis indicated that a similar (p &gt; 0.05) number of rare SNVs were&#13;
detected between influent wastewater and primary sludge. Overall, our approach enables the sequencing of the most concentrated&#13;
sources of genetic material within the wastewater matrix, providing valuable insights for public health forecasting of infectious disease prevalence beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.

<description>Moms and micro-influencers: a new profile for brands on instagram
Fernández-Gómez, Erika; Morante-Bonet, Miriam; Caluori, Romina; Feijoo, Beatriz
. Influencer marketing has become a fundamental tool in advertising. At the same time, the presence of minors on social media has become widespread, espe-cially on their parents’ channels, as seen with micro-influencer mothers (those with less than 100 000 followers). This study aims to understand their communication and engagement strategies through an exploratory data analysis of the Instagram activi-ty of five micro-influencers during five months (August to December 2022), analyzing 276 posts. The research shows that, like instamoms, the profiles studied feature seve-ral brands employing different advertising techniques, often lacking transparency regarding their commercial relationships. Most posts that showcase brands do not include any disclosure about a commercial collaboration. Fashion brands appear more frequently, but the food sector is particularly concerning, as many promote unhealthy products. Minors play an essential role by appearing in the most-liked and commercial posts. The results highlight the involvement of minors in profiles that fail to comply with key industry regulations, despite a great deal of advertising activity occurs, along with a lack of transparency from both micro-influencers and brands.

Marchán-Sanz, Clara; García-Rivero, Ainhoa; Fernández-Gómez, Erika; Feijoo, Beatriz
El marketing de influencia se ha convertido en una herramienta fundamental de la actividad publicitaria. Tanto la investigación académica como profesional se ha centrado en conocer la relación entre influencers, marcas y consumidores desde la perspectiva del receptor. Por ello, se plantea abordarlo desde el punto de vista del prescriptor y atendiendo al microinfluencer, una figura hasta ahora apenas estudiada con el objetivo de conocer su dinámica de trabajo en el sector publicitario y el valor aportado.&#13;

Los influencers son una pieza clave de la industria publicitaria. Entre ellos, los que&#13;
tienen menos de 100.000 seguidores consiguen excelentes niveles de engagement al establecer&#13;
una relación más cercana y creíble con su audiencia. Esta investigación ha preguntado a&#13;
290 micro-influencers sobre su relación con sus seguidores y las acciones comerciales que&#13;
permiten aumentar la interacción. Los resultados muestran que, efectivamente, las pequeñas&#13;
comunidades son de utilidad para las marcas. Así, según los prescriptores encuestados, los&#13;
seguidores de los micro-influencers comparten inquietudes y gustos; aceptan y valoran de&#13;
forma positiva los contenidos comerciales que publican y son conscientes de que las marcas&#13;
regalan los productos o servicios de los que hablan en sus contenidos. Asimismo, no existe&#13;
consenso sobre el hecho de que más seguidores haga más complejo su trabajo y sí creen que&#13;
hay sectores donde la labor de creación de contenidos digitales es más fácil. Finalmente,&#13;
los formatos comerciales que mejor engagement consiguen –según su percepción– son los&#13;
audiovisuales en los que aparece el producto, así como aquellos que permiten la interacción&#13;

<description>New mobile advertising formats targeting young audiences: an analysis of advertainment and influencers’ role in perception and understanding
Fernández-Gómez, Erika; Neira Placer, Paula; Feijoo, Beatriz
Over the past twenty years, brand communication strategies have evolved, particularly for younger audiences, with formats that blend advertising and entertainment content, often featuring influencers. This style of advertising presents challenges, notably the difficulty minors face in recognizing the commercial intent of messages. This article explores minors’ awareness and understanding of these advertising techniques, along with their moral and evaluative responses. We conducted 35 in-depth online interviews with minors aged 10–14 years in Spain. The findings reveal that recognition and understanding of such advertising increase with age. Although minors are accustomed to these practices, their primary reaction is indifference. The study emphasizes the importance of enhancing minors’ critical capacities to better navigate hybrid messages on social networks.

<description>Risky alcohol use during youth: Impact on emotion, cognitive networks, and resting-state EEG activity
Sampedro-Piquero, P.; Buades-Sitjar, F.; Capilla, A.; Zancada-Menéndez, C.; González-Baeza, A.; Moreno-Fernández, R.D.
The identification of the risk factors of alcohol consumption in youths is crucial for early interventions focused on reducing harmful alcohol use. In our study, 82 college students (40 healthy control (CO group) and 42 with risky alcohol use (RAU group) determined by AUDIT questionnaire) between the ages of 18 and 25 years underwent a comprehensive neuropsychological assessment covering emotional and cognitive functioning. Their resting-state activity was also recorded with an EEG for 10 min with their eyes open (EO) and 10 min with their eyes closed (EC) and analyzed using the Fitting Oscillations &amp; One-Over-F (FOOOF) paradigm. After adjusting for sex, those in the RAU group had higher emotional dysregulation and impulsivity traits. The RAU girls presented more emotional regulation problems, such as dysregulation and negative urgency compared with the RAU boys. The RAU youths had significantly worse functioning in several cognitive domains, such as sustained attention, verbal memory, and executive functions. Cognitive network analysis revealed a different pattern of connections in each group showing that in the RAU group, the verbal memory domain had the highest connection with other cognitive functions. The EEG analyses did not reveal any significant differences between the CO and the RAU groups. However, we observed only in the EO condition that boys the from the RAU group displayed a higher theta/beta ratio than the RAU girls, whereas these differences were not observed within the CO group. Our findings highlight the need to explore more deeply the emotional, cognitive and brain changes underlying the RAU in young people.

<title>The role of testosterone and cortisol levels in nonsuicidal selfinjury in adolescents</title>
<link>https://reunir.unir.net/handle/123456789/17875</link>
<description>The role of testosterone and cortisol levels in nonsuicidal selfinjury in adolescents
Calvete, Esther; Faura-García, Juan; Orue, Izaskun; Prieto-Fidalgo, Ángel
Introduction&#13;
&#13;
Nonsuicidal selfinjury (NSSI) is an important problem in adolescence, which is thought to serve several reinforcement functions (positive vs. negative, automatic vs. social). While the psychological mechanisms involved in NSSI are relatively well known, there is an important gap in the knowledge regarding the underlying biological mechanisms. This study examined the role of testosterone (T) and cortisol (C) in the frequency and reinforcement functions of NSSI.&#13;
Methods&#13;
&#13;
A total of 423 adolescents (age range = 13–17; 54.4% girls) from Basque Country (Spain) provided saliva samples to determine T and C levels and completed measures of NSSI 6 months later in 2017–2018.&#13;
Results&#13;
&#13;
The results showed that T but not C was significantly associated with higher NSSI frequency and the four types of NSSI functions. In addition, C moderated the predictive association between T and NSSI for automatic negative reinforcement, such that this association was significant only when C was high. Participant sex did not moderate any association between hormones and NSSI.&#13;
Conclusions&#13;
&#13;
These preliminary results suggest that testosterone levels can affect NSSI behaviors in adolescence, thus helping to explain the increase in NSSI during this stage. Moreover, in situations in which NSSI serves to alleviate negative internal states, high levels of cortisol can be involved.

Fourth generation rights are more relevant than ever. Nowadays, the protection of human rights is essential, especially due to the inevitable expansion and use of new technologies in the field of scientific sciences, medicine and biology. Biolaw raises questions and problems that are still not clearly solved today, because more and more controversies arise with each passing day, and for example, genetic selection techniques and other activities linked to science are not infrequently found between the boundaries of what is licit and the necessary application of the tools of criminal law, even talking about bio-crime, when bioethical and moral limits are crossed when modifying or altering the genetic heritage of the human being.

Si bien actualmente sigue siendo imprescindible que un jurista consulte “fuentes de papel” como los Códigos y libros jurídicos para un estudiante del Derecho, no se puede negar que hoy en día está absolutamente presente la digitalización en todas las esferas sociales, y también en las ciencias jurídicas. Así sucede con las fuentes jurídicas digitalizadas y disponibles para ser visualizadas en pantallas y dispositivos electrónicos diversos. Lo suyo ha sucedido en la educación universitaria. En el marco del Espacio Europeo de Educación&#13;
Superior la finalidad de las enseñanzas gira en torno al uso de métodos de aprendizaje atractivos y orientados a los estudiantes. En este sentido, la autora de este Capítulo, es profesora en la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad Internacional de La Rioja, que se&#13;

<description>Bispecific Antibodies, Nanobodies and Extracellular Vesicles: Present and Future to Cancer Target Therapy
Lizama-Muñoz, Asier; Plaza-Diaz, Julio
Cancer remains one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide, with a growing need for precise and effective treatments. Traditional therapies such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy have limitations, including off-target effects and drug resistance. In recent years, targeted therapies have emerged as promising alternatives, aiming to improve treatment specificity and reduce systemic toxicity. Among the most innovative approaches, bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and extracellular vesicles offer distinct and complementary mechanisms for cancer therapy. Bispecific antibodies enhance immune responses and enable dual-targeting of cancer cells, nanobodies provide superior tumor penetration due to their small size, and extracellular vesicles present a novel platform for drug and RNA delivery. This work aims to review and analyze these three approaches, assessing their current applications, advantages, challenges, and future perspectives.

Palomares Herrera, Manuel; Orrego Pereira, Sindy Paola

In this work, the context in which the proposed package of legislative modifications was born is presented and analyzed in a constitutional key to conclude on whether the modifications of the organic laws of honor and rectification as well as that of institutional publicity to stop the advance of fake news, hoaxes and post-truth with electoral intentions could restrict the right to free information and expression, if it is an abuse of power, if the media generation colonizes new spaces of control by the Executive, if censorship is possible or if these public policies exceed the limits of transparency intended by the European Parliament.

Abstract: Background: In 2022, there were an estimated 20 million new cancer cases and 9.7 million deaths. The number of new cancer cases is expected to rise to over 35 million by 2050, marking a 75% increase from 2022 levels. Twenty to eighty-six percent of cancer patients suffer from taste disorders (TD), which are associated with an increased risk of malnutrition. Cachectic syndrome is linked to the presence and growth of tumors and leads to systemic inflammation. Synsepalum dulcificum is a plant whose berries contain miraculin, a glycoprotein that transforms sour tastes into sweet and can ameliorate TD. Objectives: To evaluate the effect of the regular intake of dried miracle berries (DMBs), a novel food containing miraculin, on biomarkers of inflammation and cachexia in malnourished patients with cancer and TD receiving systemic antineoplastic therapy. Methods: we conducted a triple-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled pilot clinical trial. Thirty-one patients with cancer of various etiologies who received chemotherapy were enrolled in this pilot study and divided into three groups. The first group received a tablet containing 150 mg of DMB (standard dose), the high-dose group received a tablet of 300 mg of DMB, and the third group received a tablet with 300 mg of the placebo for three months before each main meal. The plasma levels of several molecules associated with inflammation and cancer cachexia were measured using the X-MAP Luminex multiplexing platform. Results: We found decreased plasma levels of IFN-γ in the standard-dose group. In addition, our&#13;
results suggest a downtrend of IL-1β levels in the three groups after three months of intervention (p = 0.093). Moreover, the three groups showed a reduction in tumor-derived molecule proteolysis-inducing factor/dermcidin (p = 0.021). It is important to highlight&#13;
the positive correlation between IL-6 and IL-10 in the standard group, which suggests a better balance between proinflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines. Regardless of DMB consumption, soluble TNF receptor type II tended to decrease with treatment in&#13;
patients who responded well to the antineoplastic treatment (p = 0.011). We did not find significant correlations between cytokines and sensory variables or dietary and nutritional status. Conclusions: Our results suggest that the regular consumption of a standard&#13;
dose of DMB along with a systemic antineoplastic treatment could contribute to reducing inflammation and cachexia biomarkers in malnourished patients with cancer exhibiting TD. In this sense, nutritional support is crucial in the treatment of cancer cachexia. In our view, it should be considered a coadjuvant of therapeutics. Future studies on the molecular signaling pathways and specific mechanisms of action of bioactive compounds within food supplements, such as miraculin, will allow them to be used to target pathogenic mechanisms of cancer cachexia and malnutrition: NCT05486260.

<description>Multimodalidad
This chapter introduces the basic tenets of multimodal studies, including a definition of the key concepts, the most important methodologies to its study, and the contributions of a multimodal perspective to second language (L2) teaching. We discuss the idea of a non- language-centric view in multimodality and the construction of meaning through various semiotic resources. Some pedagogical applications of multimodality are also examined. The chapter is structured in three sections. First, we introduce the notion of multimodality, and the main features of the most popular multimodal approaches are revised: systemic functional linguistics, social semiotics, multimodal (inter)action analysis, and conversation analysis. The revision of their theoretical-methodological frameworks, research objectives, and the most important analytical tools permits identifying how they relate to each other. Then, we explore the contribution of multimodal research to the field of L2 teaching. We discuss current research trends in the development of learners’ multimodal literacy. Finally, we pay special attention to pedagogical aspects regarding integrating multimodal literacy in the L2 classroom. We include a proposal centred on the genre-based pedagogy and recommendations for its implementation.

<description>Listening to silence in Spanish and English-medium instruction online lectures
Querol-Julián, Mercedes; Amondarain-Garrido, Maite
This chapter presents a comparative study of the episodes of interaction that took place in two live online lessons given by the same lecturer. They belong to two parallel international master’s degree programmes, one given in Spanish (L1) and the other in English (L2). It explores the influence that teaching through English as a lingua franca has on the EMI live online lecture. We are particularly concerned about how lecturer’s and students’ silence is integrated and how students’ stillness is managed during the episodes of interaction. A multimodal discourse analysis perspective was adopted to study participants’ silence and the strategies the lecturer used to repair students’ stillness. The analysis showed some differences between the two lectures in the length and frequency of the periods of silence and how students’ participation was fostered. Results revealed major implications for EMI lecturer training regarding the importance of silence management in the virtual environment.

In this study, we measured the dose-response effect of a 24-week concurrent training (CT) intervention on low-grade systemic inflammation biomarkers in sedentary young healthy adults. A total of 100 untrained participants were randomized to (1) no exercise (control group, n = 35), (2) aerobic + resistance exercise (CT) at moderate intensity (exercise-moderate group; n = 33), or (3) CT at vigorous intensity (exercise-vigorous group, n = 32). Serum concentrations of C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-7, IL-8, and IL-10, interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), tumor necrosis factor-α, leptin, and adiponectin were determined and compared among the three groups. The exercise-vigorous group members had lower differences in IL-7 levels among them, compared to the exercise-moderate group members (Δ = ‒7.97% vs. 1.90%; p = 0.030; 95% CI [‒0.90, ‒0.04]). The exercise-vigorous group members showed higher differences in CRP values (Δ = 20.1%; F = 3.339; p = 0.046) compared to both the control (Δ = ‒1.91%) and the exercise-moderate (Δ = ‒23.3%) group members, whereas the control group exhibited higher differences in IFN-γ levels compared to the exercise-vigorous group (Δ = 15.3% vs. 2.62%; p = 0.048; 95% CI [‒0.68, ‒0.01]). For individuals in the three groups, body composition and physical fitness correlated overall with leptin. The data show, and we concluded, that the training intervention had no significant effect on low-grade systemic inflammation biomarkers.

<description>Multilingualism and multimodality in the CLIL/ EMI classroom
Ruiz de Zarobe, Yolanda; Querol-Julián, Mercedes
This article presents a systematic review of research related to multilingualism and multimodality in Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) and English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) classrooms. Our aim is to explore how existing research has identified the contexts and areas of study linked to these concepts. After reviewing substantial evidence on factors such as the geographical contexts, education levels, participants, languaging practices and semiotic resources employed in previous research, we introduce the articles of this special issue. These contributions cover three education stages: primary, secondary and higher education, providing an updated overview of the field. They address a range of topics related to CLIL/ EMI, including the use of multimodal resources to scaffold content and language in classrooms, the implementation of translanguaging and trans-semiotising pedagogies, teachers’ awareness of multilingualism’s pedagogical philosophies, as well as the role of multimodality in assessments, thus providing a current and holistic view of multilingualism and multimodality in the CLIL/ EMI context today.

Background. Numerous physiological responses to exercise are observed in humans, yet the effects of long-term exercise and varying intensities on the diversity and composition of human fecal microbiota remain unclear. We investigated the effect of a 24-week supervised concurrent exercise intervention, at moderate and vigorous intensities, on fecal microbiota diversity and composition in young adults.&#13;
Methods. This ancillary study was based on data from the ACTIBATE randomized controlled trial (ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT02365129), and included adults (aged 18-25 years, 70% female) that were randomized to (i) a control group (CON: no exercise, n=20), (ii) a moderate-intensity exercise group (MOD-EX, n=21), and (iii) a vigorous-intensity exercise group (VIG-EX, n=20). Fecal samples were collected before and after the 24-week exercise intervention, and the diversity and composition of the fecal microbiota were analyzed by 16S rRNA sequencing. Inferential functional profiling of the fecal microbiota was performed and correlations between microbial changes and cardiometabolic outcomes were assessed.&#13;
Results. Exercise did not modify beta or alpha diversities regardless of the intensity (all P≥0.062). The relative abundance of the Erysipelotrichaceae family (Bacillota phylum) (-0.3±1.2%; P=0.031) was however reduced in the VIG-EX group. Coprococcus was the only genus showed a significant difference between MOD-EX and VIG-EX after the intervention, with its relative abundance increasing in MOD-EX (+0.4±0.6%; P=0.005). None of these changes were related to the exercise-induced cardiometabolic benefits (all P≥0.05).&#13;
Conclusions. In young adults, a 24-week supervised concurrent exercise program, at moderate and vigorous intensities, resulted in minor changes in fecal microbiota composition, while neither alpha nor beta diversities were affected.

<title>Comparison of Three DNA Isolation Methods and Two Sequencing Techniques for the Study of the Human Microbiota</title>

<description>Comparison of Three DNA Isolation Methods and Two Sequencing Techniques for the Study of the Human Microbiota

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women and the second leading cause of female death. Altered interactions between the host and the gut microbiota appear to play an influential role in carcinogenesis. Several studies have shown different&#13;
signatures of the gut microbiota in patients with breast cancer compared to healthy women. Currently, there is disagreement regarding the different DNA isolation and sequencing methodologies for studies on the human microbiota, given that they can influence the&#13;
interpretation of the results obtained. The goal of this work was to compare (1) three different DNA extraction strategies to minimize the impact of human DNA, and (2) two sequencing strategies (16S rRNA and shotgun) to identify discrepancies in microbiome results. We made use of breast tissue and fecal samples from both healthy women and breast cancer patients who participated in the MICROMA study (reference NCT03885648). DNA was isolated by means of mechanical lysis, trypsin, or saponin. The amount of&#13;
eukaryotic DNA isolated using the trypsin and saponin methods was lower compared to the mechanical lysis method (mechanical lysis, 89.11 ± 2.32%; trypsin method, 82.63 ± 1.23%; saponin method, 80.53 ± 4.09%). In samples with a predominance of prokaryotic cells,&#13;
such as feces, 16S rRNA sequencing was the most advantageous approach. For other tissues, which are expected to have a more complex microbial composition, the need for an in-depth evaluation of the multifactorial interaction between the various components&#13;
of the microbiota makes shotgun sequencing the most appropriate method. As for the three extraction methods evaluated, when sequencing samples other than stool, the trypsin method is the most convenient. For fecal samples, where contamination by host DNA is low, no prior treatment is necessary.

The microbiome plays a crucial role in our health, unlocking microbial ecosystems (Stavropoulou et al., 2021a). Microbiome research is a dynamic and evolving field that investigates microbial communities and their interconnections (Stavropoulou et al., 2021b).&#13;
The interactions of the human microbiome, particularly the gut microbiome, has been extensively studied due to its substantial impact on health (Tsigalou et al., 2018). Research shows that intestinal microbes participate in digestive processes, synthesize vitamins and enzymes, and regulate immunity, inflammatory processes, and microbial balance (Fu et al., 2023; Mangan et al., 2018). Breakdown of microbial balance is associated with multiple disease states, such as diabetes (Li et al., 2020), obesity (Aoun et al., 2020), autoimmune&#13;
diseases (Mousa et al., 2022), periodontitis (Abdulkareem et al., 2023), stress (Guan et al., 2017), while it can significantly affect drug metabolism (Dodd and Cann, 2022) and individual patient responses (Ma et al., 2024).&#13;
Microbiome-based therapies (Yadav and Chauhan, 2022), such as probiotics (Stavropoulou and Bezirtzoglou, 2020), prebiotics (Yadav and Chauhan, 2022), and fecal microbiome transplantation (Liu X. et al.) influence the microbiome and favorably balance it in clinical applications. Personalized medicine (Kashyap et al.,2017) may soon harness microbiome-tailored therapies, but bioethical issues, such&#13;
as microbiome ownership and data privacy, require attention. Despite the progress in microbiome research, challenges still remain, as microbiomes depend on many factors, such as diet, genetics, lifestyle, and environment (Dong and Gupta, 2019).

Celiac disease is attributable to a combination of genetic predisposition and exposure to dietary gluten, with immune system involvement. The incidence is increasing globally, and the societal economic burden of celiac disease stretches beyond the cost&#13;
of gluten-free food. This enteropathy that affects the small intestine has been related to different disorders and comorbidities. Thus, the implications of suffering from this disease are multidimensional and need further consideration. Celiac disease is a serious&#13;
condition that remains under-recognized, resulting in an increased need for programs for better management. This review aims to summarize the current evidence regarding celiac diseases, with special emphasis on clinical implications, diagnosis, dietary management, socioeconomical aspects, and future perspectives.

Background/Objectives: Dysgeusia contributes to malnutrition and worsens the quality of life of patients with cancer. Despite the different strategies, there is no effective treatment for patients suffering from taste disorders provided by the pharmaceutical&#13;
industry. Therefore, we developed a novel strategy for reducing side effects in cancer patients by providing a novel food supplement with the taste-modifying glycoprotein miraculin, which is approved by the European Union, as an adjuvant tomedical–nutritional&#13;
therapy. Methods: A pilot randomized, parallel, triple-blind, and placebo-controlled intervention clinical trial was carried out in which 31 malnourished patients with cancer and dysgeusia receiving antineoplastic treatment were randomized into three arms—standard&#13;
dose of dried miracle berries (DMBs) (150 mg DMB/tablet), high dose of DMBs (300 mg DMB/tablet), or placebo (300 mg freeze-dried strawberry)—for three months. Patients consumed a DMB or placebo tablet before each main meal (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).&#13;
Using stool samples from patients with cancer, we analyzed the intestinal microbiome via nanopore methodology. Results: We detected differences in the relative abundances of genera Phocaeicola and Escherichia depending on the treatment. Nevertheless, only the&#13;
Solibaculum genus was more abundant in the standard-dose DMB group after 3 months. At the species level, Bacteroides sp. PHL 2737 presented a relatively low abundance in both DMB groups, whereas Vescimonas coprocola presented a relatively high abundance in both treatment groups after 3 months. Furthermore, a standard dose of DMB was positively associated with TNF-α levels and Lachnoclostridium and Mediterraneibacter abundances, and a high dose of DMB was negatively associated with TNF-α levels and the relative abundance of Phocaeicola. Following the administration of a high dose of DMB, a positive correlation was observed between erythrocyte polyunsaturated fatty acids and the presence of Lachnoclostridium and Roseburia. Additionally, a positive association was identified between Phocaeicola and the acetic acid concentration of feces. There was a negative association between the relative abundance of Phocaeicola and taste perception in the highdose DMB group. Conclusions: The combination of DMB intake with nutritional treatment and individualized dietary guidance results in positive changes in the intestinal microbiome of patients with cancer and dysgeusia. Changes observed in the intestinal microbiome might contribute to maintaining an appropriate immune response in cancer patients. As the current pilot study included a limited number of participants, further clinical trials on a larger group of patients are needed to draw robust findings.

<description>Exploring the therapeutic potential of glucagon-like peptide 1 agonists in metabolic disorders
Cortés-Martín, Adrián; Plaza-Diaz, Julio
This article comments on the work by Soresi and Giannitrapani. The authors have stated that one of the most novel and promising treatments for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is the use of glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists, especially when used in combination therapy.&#13;
However, despite their notable efficacy, these drugs were not initially designed to target MASLD directly. In a groundbreaking development, the Food and Drug Administration has recently approved resmetirom, the first treatment specifically aimed at reducing liver fibrosis in metabolic-associated steatohepatitis.&#13;
Resmetirom, an orally administered, liver-directed thyroid hormone beta-selective agonist, acts directly on intrahepatic pathways, enhancing its therapeutic potential and marking the beginning of a new era in the treatment of MASLD. Furthermore, the integration of lifestyle modifications into liver disease management is an essential component that should be considered and reinforced. By incorporating dietary changes and regular physical exercise into treatment, patients may achieve improved outcomes, reducing the need for pharmacological interventions and/or improving treatment efficacy. As a complement to medical therapies, lifestyle factors should not be overlooked in the broader strategy for managing MASLD.

Eating disorder (TCA) are a group of clinical syndromes whose psychopathological traits are exaggerated concern about weight and body shape and the belief that the self is strongly determined by physical appearance; but despite the outward symptoms can be altered feeding behavior, the origin of these disorders should be explained from a psychological disturbance manifested in a high level of personal dissatisfaction, fear of mature, high levels of self-imposed or ideas distorted on weight and food that have affected people, something that verifies the multifactorial origin. The objective was analyzing the levels of TCA and self-concept in the sample of athletes. Studying the link between these two instruments and determining which sociodemographic variables of the sample are more related to the instruments used. The study is non-experimental quantitative using a combination of descriptive and correlational methods to meet the objectives. The sample consisted of 154 athletes bodybuilding in the province of Jaén (Spain) who underwent two psychological instruments (EDI- 2 and AF5) used to measure self-concept scores and TCA. Many significant relationships between the dimensions of the tools used by associating Autoconcepto low to high rates of TCA (p &lt; .05), among them the inverse relationship between emotional dimension of self-concept with almost all dimensions were obtained TCA. Also, there were significant differences in socio-demographic (gender, age, education level and weekly hours spent in the gym) with respect to many indicators of food risk behavior and self-concept levels (p &lt; .05). It was possible to characterize these disorders and to relate behavioral and sociodemographic. The results are valid to apply treatment to tackle disorder preventive aspects from the fields, medical, sports and education.

El número de aplicaciones diseñadas para los alumnos con trastorno del espectro autista (TEA) ha aumentado notablemente, sin embargo, son escasas las revisiones que examinen la eficacia de su uso en las prácticas docentes. Para garantizar resultados eficaces y evitar resultados contraproducentes o potencialmente dañinos se ha destacado la importancia de incorporar en el diseño y uso de estas aplicaciones prácticas basadas en la evidencia. Sin embargo, la mayoría de los docentes afirma no haber recibido suficiente capacitación como para reconocer e implementar estas prácticas en el aula. El objetivo de esta revisión es analizar qué prácticas basadas en la evidencia han utilizado las intervenciones con tabletas digitales que han mostrado su eficacia en el desarrollo de habilidades comunicativas, socioemocionales, cognitivas y académicas en niños y adolescentes con TEA. MÉTODO. Se realizó una búsqueda exhaustiva&#13;
en las bases de datos Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, ERIC, IEEE Xplore y ACM Digital Library siguiendo los criterios establecidos en la declaración PRISMA. La selección final estuvo formada por 55 artículos seleccionados por la calidad de su evidencia (efectividad, confiabilidad y compromiso) y la capacidad para proporcionar datos concretos sobre el diseño y las prácticas instruccionales utilizadas. RESULTADOS. Se ha comprobado que las aplicaciones que han mostrado eficacia en el desarrollo de niños y adolescentes con TEA ofrecen una variedad de usos derivados directamente de prácticas instruccionales tradicionales basadas en la evidencia. DISCUSIÓN.&#13;
Para garantizar resultados eficaces durante la instrucción del alumnado con TEA se&#13;
recomienda proporcionar programas de capacitación más amplios que brinden a los maestros la&#13;
oportunidad de: 1) practicar intervenciones tradicionales basadas en la evidencia en aulas inclusivas;&#13;
