El test de emotividad de García Hoz (Test de calificación de palabras:&#13;
evaluación de la emotividad) [ 1 ], es una valiosa aportación al problema&#13;
general del significado, es decir al elemento o factor semántico de&#13;
la conducta verbal. Osgood ( 1 969) denomina al proceso esencial del significado&#13;
como factor representativo, disposición, expectativa y reacción&#13;
de mediación. Desde la psicología experimental la tarea principal ha sido&#13;
la de medir los procesos que intervienen en la captación del significado.&#13;
Los experimentos se han venido haciendo a través de índices fisiológicos&#13;
(Razran, 1936), de generalización semántica (Cofer y Foley, 1 942), de&#13;
métodos de transferencia y de interferencia ( Osgood, 1 969) [2] y con&#13;
técnicas de asociación de palabras para el estudio del significado (Karwoski&#13;
et al. 1 944). Dentro de este último enfoque, Osgood propuso un&#13;
instrumento de medición denominado «diferencial semántico». Según&#13;
Osgood la función la un sí m bolo verbal no consiste en servir de signo a&#13;
las ideas sino en suscitar componentes diferenciados de la conducta de&#13;
un sujeto que son provocados por los signos lingüísticos. En la técnica&#13;
del diferencial semántico el sujeto reacciona ante un término lingüístico&#13;
mediante una serie de juicios asociativos independientes que indican la&#13;
dirección de su asociación y su intensidad. Este último concepto es la&#13;
base del trabajo de García Hoz.

<summary type="text">La pedagogía moral de García Hoz
Quintana Cabanas, José María
El Profesor García Hoz tocó muchos temas pedagógicos, y todos ellos&#13;
con competencia y autoridad. Pero, sin embargo, no escribió mucho de&#13;
educación moral. Tal vez sea debido a que describió sus ideas pedagógicas&#13;
en una época (décadas de los 60, 70 y 80) en que la educación moral&#13;
estaba prácticamente relegada al olvido y nadie hablaba de ella. No obstante,&#13;
antes García Hoz sí se ocupó de Pedagogía Moral, y de un modo&#13;
muy marcado y contundente. Cabría decir que hizo entonces su gran&#13;
contribución a la Pedagogía Moral, después de la cual ya no tenía cosas&#13;
muy relevantes que decir.

El pasado mes de febrero fallecía en Madrid el catedrático Víctor&#13;
García Hoz, una de las figuras más relevantes de la Pedagogía española.&#13;
Había nacido en 1 91 1 en Campillo de Aranda (Burgos). En 1 940 defendió&#13;
la tesis doctoral en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, titulada «El&#13;
concepto de lucha en la ascética española y la educación de la juventud»,&#13;
y dirigida por D. Juan Zaragüeta. Fue el primer Doctor en Filosofía y&#13;
Letras, Sección de Pedagogía, de la Universidad española. En 1944 obtuvo&#13;
la Cátedra de Pedagogía Superior en la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la&#13;
Universidad de Madrid. Fue el primer Director del Instituto de Ciencias de&#13;
la Educación de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid; Director del&#13;
Instituto de Pedagogía del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas,&#13;
hasta 198 1 ; fundador de la Sociedad Española de Pedagogía y de su&#13;
revista Bordón; Presidente del Seminario Permanente de Educación Personalizada&#13;
y miembro, desde su constitución en 1 963, del Consejo de&#13;
Administración de Fomento de Centros de Enseñanza.

En general, la definición o caracterización del conjunto de una&#13;
obra intelectual es tarea ardua; si se pretende que sea breve, es&#13;
arriesgada; y si dicha obra es rica en contenido y extensa en su&#13;
publicación, puede ser gravemente injusta. En el caso de Víctor&#13;
García Hoz, no obstante, se le puede adjudicar una rúbrica fácilmente,&#13;
sin peligro de errar y con profunda justicia: fue un pedagogo&#13;
humanista.

En este artículo se exponen los resultados de una investigación sobre el origen, la preparación y la elaboración del voluminoso Tratado de Educación Personalizada, dirigido por Víctor García Hoz, así como sobre las contribuciones más fundamentales del Tratado al campo de la teoría y la práctica educativas.&#13;
Publicado en España, abordamos los enfoques doctrinal y práctico que justifican el lugar que ocupa este Tratado, de treinta y tres volúmenes, en el marco de la bibliografía pedagógica existente.&#13;
Entre las contribuciones más significativas del Tratado, cabe mencionar: el concepto de “educación personalizada”, por encima de limitaciones individualistas; el principio pedagógico de “la diferencia y la complementariedad”; la construcción de un “Mapa de la educación personalizada”; o logros innovadores educativos como el Sistema de Objetivos Fundamentales de la Educación, el Sistema para la Obra Bien Hecha o la creación de un ambiente educativo personalizado.
n this article are exposed the results of an investigation on the origin, preparation and elaboration of the voluminous Treaty of Personalized Education, directed by Victor Garcia Hoz, as well as on the most fundamental contributions of the Treaty to the field of the theory and educational practice.&#13;
&#13;
Published in Spain, they are justified the doctrinal and practical approaches that base the place that occupies this Treaty, of thirty three volumes, in the framework of the existing pedagogic bibliography.&#13;
&#13;
Between the most meaningful contributions of the Treaty, fits to mention: the concept of "personalized education", above individualistic limitations; the pedagogic approach of "the difference and the conjunction"; the construction of a "Map of the personalized education"; or innovative educational accomplishments as the Fundamental Objectives System of the Education., the System for the well done Work or the creation of a Personalized educational environment.

<summary type="text">El Aula Inteligente: una experiencia educativa innovadora

This article deals with the design and assessment of a new instructional model called "The Intelligent Classroom" (IC). The Intelligent classroom is described in the context of educational learner-centered paradigm. The instructional design is formed by 8 dimensions: Goals, Tasks, Methods, Sequence, The Teacher, The Students, Assessment and Context. The model was applied to third year baccalaureate students attending 3 private schools in Madrid. The sample consisted of 398 subjects (216 males and 182 females). The design of assessment was quasi experimental, «control group non equivalent», with two groups corresponding to traditional teaching and the Intelligent Classroom. The dependent variable studied was academic achievement, assessed by objective tests. The results show positive effects of IC in general, as well as for different levels of achievement. Some significative differences in relation with gender were found.

The education of the students, with or without educational special needs, doesn't depend on, at least only, the specific pedagogic ways in order to be applied with determined students and in several situations, but above all on the ability of the school of generating an educational model of school that proportions the necessary curriculum width so that all the students can enter it, and for which the attitudes and the perceptions of the several participants in the educational process is something essential. This article tries to show how the attitudes of the people involved in the teaching-learning process influence in the forms of integration of the students with special needs.

The authors analyse a methodological strategy that starts from a treatment of the epistemological and didactic conceptions of pupils, that initiate the study of the subject General Didactic, to foster the acquisition of technical-practical knowledge and the development of skills, capabilities and attitudes needed for a reflective teaching. The results show that, in general, students judged positively this strategy.

The republicans at the end of the 19th century, with their «critical consciousness» and «institutionist» way of life (related to the Free Institution of Teaching), in some cases verge on scientific positivism, maintained, after the national disaster of 1898, that one of the main ways of regeneration for Spanish people, was educational reform. The Europeanization of the school, social equality by means of an adequate national education, autonomy of the universities, the whole training of students, «popular» education¿ were common places in the speeches and debates in Parliament, in scientific and literary atheneums, and in other academic and public opinion circles.

Thc quality of education is nowadays a basic target in educational policies. But any&#13;
attempt to transform or to improve educational practices should rely on teachers as basic&#13;
and majar agents within the processes of educational reforms. That is why we have&#13;
thought it's necessary to ask for the collaboration ot the teachers and governing boards tn&#13;
order to be able to identify and to analyse sorne aspects and problcms which have been&#13;
detected in the implementation and introduction of the educational reform. In our study&#13;
abo u t rural schools we ha ve tried to disco ver the degree of identifica tion of rural teachers&#13;
with sorne of the aspects of the teach.ing-learning and to what extent they approvc or&#13;
disapprove these aspects. Sorne of the indicators that we have discovered must be&#13;
considered interesting, but they might not be exhaustive or determinant, for the ever&#13;
continuous process of the improvement of educational quality.

Llevan una vida más o menos normalizada. Se analizan las bases para la elaboración de programas preventivos.
Transversal and retrospective study of diverse variables of educational character&#13;
with a sample of 184 drug addicts in different contexts: hospital, prison, commune,&#13;
unbound. They lead a more or less normal life. Bases for the elaboration of preventive&#13;

<summary type="text">La prevención del SIDA en educación secundaria. Aplicación piloto de un programa pedagógico de formación y cambio de actitud

This article describes the elaboration process, application and evaluation of an AIDS&#13;
Prevention Programme applied to ESO students through Health Education. Apart from&#13;
the transmission of information influences the formation and changing of attittudes and&#13;
the development of the ability successfully confront situations where the risk of HIV&#13;
infection exist. Techniques for formation of and changc of attittudes, clarification of&#13;
values and decission taking were used. The obtained results show an increment in the&#13;
attittudes of tolerance and solidarity with sick and seroposilive people, of responsibility&#13;
toward the solution of the problem and toward thc rules of preventive sexual behavior,&#13;
besides an increase of knowledge of the illness.

This paper introduces a longitudinal investigation about the aspects of the Innovative Educational Projccts in Andalusia, in the Environmental Education field. The analyzed period goes from the mid-eighties till the present time. The aim is to study the process of school construction of cross-curricular tapies, with a  special interest to the teacher decisions. The facts show that, on the way from the written project till its practical development, there are a number of restrictions and adaptations which end up isolating the innovative experiments in exceptional and specific curricular times and places, and making inactive their own capacity to produce a complete educational change in the school and even in the community.

We have analyzed the educational performance of twenty-five professors of the University of Seville using technical as depth interview and observation. Those teachers are among the best evaluated by theirs students. In this study, we have extracted some&#13;
essential characteristics on teaching for each teacher. Analysis of multiple correspondences has allowed to structure the characteristics in professional activity of professors very&#13;
valued by two axesordimensions: one axe is about trajectory and professional activity and another axe is about educational methodology. These dimensions reflect the existence of different models of quality in teaching associated to the different knowledge areas.

The main end of this article is to offer a critical analysis of autonomy conceived as&#13;
a basic idea in modern educational philosophy. After the tragic experience and dramatic&#13;
consequences of totalitarianism, is not possible to defend a kantian concept of autonomy as a unique source of moral responsibility and ethical action . After holocaust, we need to defend, on the contrary, the principie of previous value of heteronomy, conceived as the practice of othcrncss. in its levinasian perspective. So, the authors explore the thesis of the prior value of heteronomy on autonomy as a source and foundation of moral responsibility in educational rclationship and to reflect the general educational implications of the jewish philosophical tradition of otherness in philosophical educational discourse.

We celebrate the Centennial of the 500th Aniversary of the Cisneros University College in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, a prestigious University in its time. This Institution stars its activitities the 14th March 1499. Since its beginnings it became a specialized study center in humanism as a reaction to the Middle Ages. Alcalá was well known mainly for its language and biblical studies. The leading figures of this movement werc its Regents and Chanccllors, whose first epresentatives are described.

This study examines the Spanish educational production inscrted in the SSCI (Social&#13;
Sciences Citation Index) data base from 1988 to 1997. It quantifies the yearly productivity using direct data and  ad hoc indexes. Then, it clasifies the references retrieved, according to educational topics, by means of content analysis. Data about educational journals and personal productivity are given. And finally. it comments findings and makes inferences which could help to improve the Spanish production in the field of educational sciences.

The aim of this work is to analyze the differential characteristics of the students with&#13;
high and low academic achicvem~nt in some variables of cognitive-motivational nature.&#13;
As a rule the results indicate that the group of high academic achievement attributes more&#13;
their successes to ability and effort, it has highest learning and achievement goals, and&#13;
presents a highest academic self-concept. On the contrary, the group of low academic&#13;
achievement attributes more their resulls of success to the context; it attributes their&#13;
failure results to ability and effort, and their results of success and failure to luck.

This article studies Education student's attitudes towards statistics. Once analysed the technical characteristics about the instrument used, the different dimensions are explored examining the differences up the altitudes concerning both the gender and the educational background of the subjects. On the second hand, thc weaker aspects about statistics are identifed as well as the characteristics of the subjects that reached the lower marks. Measures to be adopted and educational methods these would improve the students attitudes towards this matter are also proposed.
