First, it is attempted to derive an optimal derivative-free Steffensen-King's type family without memory for computing a simple zero of a nonlinear function with efficiency index 4(1/3) approximate to 1.587. Next, since our without memory family includes a parameter in which it is still possible to increase the convergence order without any new function evaluations. Therefore, we extract a new method with memory so that the convergence order rises to six without any new function evaluation and therefore reaches efficiency index 6(1/3) approximate to 1.817. Consequently, derivative-free and high efficiency index would be the substantial contributions of this work as opposed to the classical Steffensen's and King's methods. Finally, we compare some of the convergence planes with different weight functions in order to show which are the best ones.

Decision model for siting transport and logistic facilities in urban environments: A methodological approach Frailea, Alberto; Larrodé, Emilio; Magreñán, Á. Alberto (UNIR); Sicilia, Juan Antonio (UNIR) (Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 01/2016)In this study, based on the use of a geographic information system (GIS), we define a decision model for determining the possible optimal locations of various facilities in an urban setting, which can be used by the transport ...
Local convergence and a chemical application of derivative free root finding methods with one parameter based on interpolation Argyros, Ioannis K; Magreñán, Á. Alberto (UNIR); Orcos, Lara (UNIR) (Journal of Mathematical Chemistry, 08/2016)We present a local convergence analysis of a derivative free fourth order method with one parameter based on rational interpolation in order to approximate a locally unique root of a function. The method is optimal in the ...
Local convergence and the dynamics of a two-point four parameter Jarratt-like method under weak conditions Amat, S (UNIR); Argyros, Ioannis K; Busquier, S; Magreñán, Á. Alberto (UNIR) (Numerical Algorithms, 02/2017)We present a local convergence analysis of a two-point four parameter Jarratt-like method of high convergence order in order to approximate a locally unique solution of a nonlinear equation. In contrast to earlier studies ...
