| dc.description | Literary studies have kept the novel Morriña (1889) apart from the feminist ideas of its author, Emilia Pardo Bazán (1851-1921), whose effort to make the situation of women visible is well known and widely studied. The present work analyses this text from the gender perspective to show all its feminist charge, strongly influenced by John Stuart Mill’s famous essay The Subjection of Womenwas published and prefaced by Pardo Bazán in 1892. The influence of the English philosopher’s ideas seems evident in boththe interactions between the novel’s characters and the situation of its tragic protagonist (that is nota benecalled Esclavitud). | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Los estudios literarios han mantenido la novela Morriña(1889) al margen de las ideas feministas de su autora Emilia Pardo Bazán (1851-1921), cuyo empeño por visibilizar la situación de la mujer es conocido y ampliamente estudiado. Elpresente trabajo analizaeste texto desde el enfoque de género, para mostrar toda su carga feminista, muy influida por el tratado de J.S. Mill La esclavitud femenina, prologado y publicado a su vez por la autora coruñesa en 1892. En las intervenciones de los personajes y en la situación de la trágica protagonista, nota benellamada Esclavitud,se evidencian las ideas del filósofo inglés. | es_ES |
